I have noticed that Brentford are going through a terrible run and it seems to have coincided with Aaron Hickey's absence - is he out for long? havent seen anything online regarding his injury. I just think Hickey is a tremendous footballer and clearly Brentford miss him - as did Scotland when he wasnt available.

I have two Ukranian guests staying with me (have done since February) Tonight Maryna showed me footage on her phone of her former place of work in Dnipro - completely obliterated by Russian bombs. Thankfully the attack took place at 5am and only one person lost their life. It is within a busy shopping centre - she likened it in scale to Union Square in Aberdeen and during the day would have been filled with shoppers. Times like these are a bit of a reminder to me why i am offering them housing. I get on so well with them that we generally speak about everyday things like the weather, or their work here and I tend to forget that they are from a war zone.

The Pie and Bovril Dead Pool 2024
Caledonian1 replied to Miguel Sanchez's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
I had a famous Scottish Footballer in my team and decided in the end to take him out as it would be incredibly sad if he never made it throught 2024 - Best of health Denis. -
I thought I could hear the Man City fans sing "England, England's number 5...England's number 5" which was amusing

Aberdeen v Motherwell 27/12

Just seen all the video footage of flooded roads at Kemnay, Inverurie and Dunecht.......add that to the closures from the south then I am sure there would have been a very small crowd tonight. -
Aberdeen v Motherwell 27/12

Thats what I find frustrating - I was out in it most of the morning and it was horrendous...a quick look at the forecast would have suggested that there would be major flooding (there certainly is ootside my hoose) and roads closed (some due to snow from further inland) and that it was only sensible to call it off early. -
Yes a stupid idea but this article suggests the opposite - they are to be reintroduced. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67795075

Aberdeen v Motherwell 27/12

Would rather they just postpone now to let people know. Lots of Motherwell fans will not make it and similar story for Dons fans from Aberdeenshire - lots of flooding and snow further inland -
Aberdeen v Motherwell 27/12

It's not all about the pitch though.......weather is unbelievably bad and further inland there is snow. I have no appetite to leave the house after being out in that all morning. Hope they do the sensible thing and call it off -
Excellent goalkeeping - Martinez has been brilliant this season

still none the wiser but thanks for trying to help.

Thats a name I see quite often on here.....who is Goldbridge?
-
Ratcliffe might be better focussing on Grangemouth after this
-
glad McTominay is playing no part in this shambles. Not sure what Erikson and Rashford have done to get a starting place tonight.

Keen to get some train tickets booked. Is it straightforward getting the 20% discount ie is it applied automatically when you make a booking for three or more? or do you have to look for it somewhere? ETA - just noticed it comes up automatically

got a "not available outside Australia" message

I went to a game at the Olympic stadium a couple of years ago - West Ham v Austria Vienna. I ended up in the end where they have an area of about 20m tarpaulin between the two sections of stand (a result of moving the pitch nearer the opposite end and adding in seats below where I was sitting) It looked ridiculous and the seat I was in was effectively further from the pitch than it was before re-development. Aha....just found a photo......how shite does this look (paid £36 for a Europa league game)

When Raymond comes around Everybody goes to ground Though you might have the means to pay He still likes some the dirty way When Raymond comes around When Raymond comes around He holds out his hand like a loaded gun You shake it and make like you're scared of the c***

"But I believe in this, it's been tested by research. He who fu**s nuns will later join the church" Death or Glory by the Clash....possibly the first time I heard a sweary word on a tape.

Jeeso...Klopp is right.....just switched on the West Ham v Man Utd game and there is no atmosphere at all. I would imagine close to a 60,000 crowd and there is no atmosphere (I am sure kick off time doesnt help)

dont think so just went to app store and added spotify. I never lisen to podcasts and wanted to see how to do that as well as listen to some music that is not on my itunes
-
I have only this week added the Spotify app to my iphone. I have not signed up to any premium version (or dont think I have) and it seems i am able to play music without listening to adverts - is this normally how it works - do you get a period of time without adverts and then they kick in and become annoying.? Or do you get a period of time for free then they start charging? Never used it before and I am not the most tech savy but would appreciate advice.
