It's

A) The Warp drive from the Enterprise

B) from a bodged together tank made from spare parts by the A Team

C) The main power unit of a nine gear wanking machine or

D) Some bit of rusty tractor engine that some sheepshagging fermer has left lying about

Gives you the same head buzz as a big sniff of poppers but without the loose anus

Is not Hamilton Accies' new marketing slogan as you still get the loose anus when watching them defend.

Don't think I've ever clicked in this thread before and chuffed to see breath holding getting discussed. I got into this for about a week during lockdown after watching some David Blaine videos. Could get beyond 4 mins at one point.

Edit:

🙈 I've walked into a Melanius mattress joke ffs.

Closing your eyes helps yeah, plus 3 or 4 deep breaths before you start to settle yourself. It only really started to be a bit unpleasant for me once I got past the 2 minute mark. Looking up the world record I assumed it would have been about 5-6 minutes - these freedivers going for over 20 minutes without a breath is scary.

The deep breaths don't just settle yourself, they expel all the sitting carbon dioxide in your lungs. You want to do that until you're feeling dizzy, then a deep breath and sit down or lie down. Even scratching your nose will use up oxygen to activate the muscles so just try to be as still as possible.

When jump starting a car, I have always gone + to + and - to -, I read a thing lastnight saying the black lead actually goes from - on the working battery to a bare piece of metal on the car to be jumped.

Which is correct and why?

There is a chance of the battery exploding - might be a small chance but best to have the current going through the car/bike.

So black lead clipped onto engine bay somewhere on the dead car is correct then?

Yes. Your looking for an earth point - some bolt that is connected to the frame. As long as its not painted or covered in grease/oil.

My life savings on the fact that next time I'm doing a jump start, I remember this conversation having happened, but not the content of it.

Supplementary question - if you use the red lead for - to -, and black for + to +, does it have an unsavoury result, like the jump not working, or Clydebank getting back into the top 4 leagues, or whatever?
TL;DR do the colours actually matter?
Na they are just cables. A visual aid to prevent you fucking it up
