Paris Hilltoon
My parents live next to a golf course and over the last 13 years, a number of golf balls have flown into the garden. They used to sell them cheaply to friends but they've now got a collection of at least 250 golf balls (mostly good brands and in relatively decent condition) that they want gone. Would a driving range be willing to buy them at a very cheap price, and does anyone have any experience of selling used golf balls to a driving range? The club pro would probably take them off your hands.

Driving ranges don't tend to use branded balls, because folk would just nick them. They use generic balls with RANGE printed on them or something similar. Try punting them on Gumtree in batches of 10 or 20. Titleist Pro V are worth the most.

To give you an idea, The Glen golf club pro shop sells 'found' balls at 3 for a pound. However, this does not include premium balls such as Titleist Pro V1, Bridgestone B330 variants, Srixon Z Star and Callaway Speed Regime / X2. These go for £1 - £2 each, dependant on condition.

kev23
Titleist Pro V are worth the most.I remember going up the golf course when I was younger with my pals and if you found a Pro V1 you were basically a hero. We could find easily 50 balls in half an hour and then we would just jump on a par 3 and rattle them towards the pin. We must have did it every day for 3 weeks and between 5 of us hit 1 hole in 1. Wasn't me but the scenes when it went in were amazing. Anyway, no pro v1s were ever used in this. We thought they were worth hundreds.

MangoBroccoli
Is it true you have to retake your driving test if you haven't been insured on a vehicle in the last three years? Or is that totally made up?

Cardinal Richelieu
You see these in hotel rooms, but I'm never sure of their purpose. Is it to put your bag on? Seems a bit of a silly design.

Could be for putting a tray with room service on. You get similar things in restaurants, makes it easier to lay down and pick up a heavy tray.
Cardinal Richelieu
Cheers lads. Can't say I've ever used them. And re Mozza's reply, a supplementary... do your normally tip cleaning staff? (I can see why in Mozza's case if he dumps all his stuff on the floor like a teenager, but if you actually can be arsed keeping the place tidy yourself would you ever tip?).
welshbairn
My sister did a short spell as a chamber maid when she was young, so she always leaves a big tip. I might leave any unfinished booze if I can't take it with me, but that's it.
Florentine_Pogen
Yes, its a suitcase holder. They're a pain in the arse usually. I normally just empty my suitcase into a big pile in the middle of the floor, leave the room with the "please tidy" thingy hanging on the door and hey presto, on my return everything is put away in drawers and hung up in the wardrobe. Well worth the 80 Rupee/1 Euro/X Currency tip. If I ever happen to stumble across your pile of Matalan shite in the course of my shift, I'll give it some Ronson lighter fluid and torch the feckin' lot.
Mordecai
For anyone who has read the threads for the scottish clubs in Europe, then you'll no doubt be aware that there are two roasters doing the rounds just now trying to troll everyone. One is a Rangers fan (Billy boy Mohsni) and the other is a Celtic fan who has just joined today (I think). Most people don't pay them much attention, but they do get a few bites. I suppose my question is...why don't they seem to troll each other? Surely that'd be more enjoyable than a one-way shite-flinging exercise?

Put it in the middle of the floor and lie face down on it. You can w**k in the missionary position.
The_Craig
I'm looking for some help. Got 2 cars in the house. MOT for one is July and MOT for the other is December. Now I've got both their tax discs due on either December or June of each year, depending on whether I've bought six or twelve months. Is there any way I can tax them, for example, one in September and one in March to spread the pain a bit? Had a look on the DVLA site and all I get is that you can tax your car on the 5th of the month it's due. Help!
