Scary Bear Posted September 13, 2017 Share Posted September 13, 2017 If these development players aren't up to the task (and it looks like Smith thinks McKay might not be) then we either need to find a way to fund a better standard of replacement or accept that we are jeopardising our chance of promotion. The manager has already made noises in the FFP that he is happy with the squad and that he will use our youth players. So that's what should happen. The season has started, the transfer window has shut. Valentine or mckay could play on Saturday against an amateur team and get some first team experience. We have a ridiculous front four, for this level who are scoring goals. We don't need to sign anyone. We have the best team in the league playing two cms at cb against our nearest challengers. Stop being so doom and gloom and trust the players we have! Enigma Posted September 13, 2017 Share Posted September 13, 2017 I'd be inclined to play Valentine and get Davo and Murray in the middle with Thomson on the right. Opportunities like this can make players and there plenty experience in the rest of that defence too keep him right. I'd sooner have that than having a CB covering LB and a CM covering CB. The midfield offered them little to no protection against Alloa, at least in the first half.
