Widge
MacLean was advised by several medics professionals that he should avoid playing on artificial surfaces for the sake of his health and to avoid any further knee injuries. As he was such an integral part of our squad, Wright only played him on grass so not to run the risk of him ending his career. MacLean always wanted to play, but Wright was protecting him and making sure he played 80% of games rather than miss the season. Levein didn’t care about that at Hearts and MacLean being the irritating b*****d he is wants to play every game. As it stood he hasn’t got injured yet, but there’s an increased risk for him according to doctors. He’s a big lovable b*****d if he’s in your team, he’s an annoying little shite if he’s not.
R.R.FC
It’s maybe just because it isn’t Mansell but I would very happy with that. Think he will still be capable of getting goals at this level. His hold up play will be crucial too. We’ve looked much better when we’ve played with a striker that tries to hold the ball up and link play rather than one that runs behind. The fact that nearly all our remaining league games are on plastic is a slight concern given what St Johnstone fans have said but we must be due a break on that front...surely? I wonder if this is instead of Miller or as well as? Combined age of 111 between Miller, MacLean and Baird as our striking options... Brashy's Boots
I think if Miller was on his way he'd be here by now. Considering his options usually means, eh, naw.
BairnBrainBrian
Airdrie on Saturday, back to Hertz treatment table on Sunday. Sorry Hertz, we broke your player.

They’re still collectively younger than Steven MacLean.

grumswall
It's about time mcglynn was getting his standard hearts loan player in. Haven't seen maclean play in years but if he's the same player he was at St Johnstone we have a good signing there.
TxRover
At least he’s able to use his head and he’s reasonably tall, a couple of things we’ve struggled with (maybe put Baird on the rack to stretch him?). The question would be, if we keep Bowie, where would McLean play? Bench Bowie or Baird? Thin the middle and back and have three forward? Or is McLean possibly intended to allow Baird and Bowie to take breaks either for a game here or there or at the 60 minute mark, at least initially?

Baird would be good at the top of a diamond 4 but who drops out between Spencer, tait, Henry and Matthews.

The first couple of games I’d bring McLean in for the second half. After that, perhaps Baird/McLean/Bowie in front of Tait/Matthews/Hendry and MacDonald/Bene/McKay (or Davo, depending on his possible nicked hammy)/Miller (or if we need better defending, Bene/Davo/McKay/Watson and we free up MacDonald to spell Baird (what the hell).
Rovers1992/1993
Silly me for having faith in mglynn. Not sure if you’re trying to prove your point here or not but It’s got nothing to do with McGlynn on whether Bowie stays to play 100 games or not which he obviously won’t be. We’ve all got faith in McGlynn though.

Probably, skating through the Falkirk defense, in the last minutes of the last game, he’ll shoot, score and blow out his knees in spectacular fashion to end his career by driving the Rovers to automatic promotion?
