Rover the Moon
This. It seems it was clear ploy by the board to get season tickets sales up without any forward thinking. It was obvious at the time that this was the case. Anyone who thought otherwise is either naive or stupid. It was even announced in the manner of 'McGurn signs two-year deal ... by the way, did we mention season tickets are on sale now.'It made sense if the manager was going to be Ellis or McGlynn as they'd know his ability but this was always likely to happen with a new boss. Doesn't seem like McGurn has done his best to put himself in McKinnon's good books though, going by the stories doing the rounds. Glad he's getting game time somewhere but it seems a ridiculous waste of a wage to have him on the books for two more years when we're struggling for numbers in other areas.
justin time
What a shock mcgurn leaving, who would have predicted that in the summer ??

Hopefully Stranraer are covering a reasonable portion of his wage.
Raith Against The Machine
and he can pull of more wondersaves against the Pars hopefully...It won't happen, because they're going to blow that league away this year, but could you imagine the #scenes if he did somehow thwart Dunfermline's title charge. That's statue stuff, right there.
Rover the Moon
Hopefully Stranraer are covering a reasonable portion of his wage.Indeed. But we're still left with having three keepers on the books next summer and perhaps having to try and agree a pay-off to move him on. All pretty clumsy stuff.Giving Barr a deal at the end if the season falls into the same category. He's been a nightmare signing. Much was made of why we signed Davo but, barring a couple of suspensions a season, he is always fit to play - and in the same positions Barr can operate in. Give me Davo over him any day of the week.
kev23
I totally forgot about Barr tbh.

Murray re signed Barr, presumably based on his performances in the last 2 and a half months of the season.
L. Brilliant
Barr looked like our best player when fit. Definitely someone to tie down. Just bad luck with the injury.
Leggy Blonde
Hopefully Stranraer are covering a reasonable portion of his wage. It's quite possible that Davie's loan move and whatever we received for Tade, freed up some money to bring in Daly. Rover the Moon
Barr looked like our best player when fit. Definitely someone to tie down. Just bad luck with the injury.Don't think he's someone to give long deals to based on his injury record. Two years with us, no pre-seasons, and injury-prone before that too. He probably looked better than he actually was based on the fact we'd been witnessing Ross Perry for a long spell. I'd rather we invested more time and effort into the likes of Bates than Barr for his 10 games a season.
donny86
Looking at the Fifa compensation scheme, we should get 0.5% of Tade's transfer fee.

Broken Algorithms
Not bad stuff all things considered! A couple of unexpected wee windfalls does the club good again. We've been quite lucky on that front over the last three or four years. For ages it felt we'd never get any decent breaks on cup draws and we had very little players who'd develop.
Beachbum
More likely to be £2500.

Duncypoo
Is there a fan club in Edinburgh? I'm based through here now and don't always get to the games. Just wondering do a few fans meet up here for a pint every so often.

Think there was a thread on Fantalk.
