embow
But the world demands to know what they plan to do with the Challenge Cup! When is it to be played? Where is it to be played? How many will be allowed to go to the ground to see it being played? Momentous moments like this must take priority!

Ridiculous that we had been screaming out for a creative player for months, and then in a huge game away at Ayr he was thrown in at the deep end, along with playing a very obvious still injured McHattie, I had already wanted Barry Smith out that summer, but after going 3-0 down inside an hour, it was time for Barry to go, and time to get the train back to Kirkcaldy. On a much more positive note, look how far we’ve come! Super John min!! Get a statue built for the man where that weeds bit is next to the steps at the ramp Will need to add the two hats, obviously.

San Starko Rover
Will need to add the two hats, obviously.Good likeness but need to change the plaque as seems a bit harsh on the Gaffer, not sure we can describe him as “The Muppet Show” although there’s been a few former managers and board members who could use it.

CALDERON
Well, the aim at the start of the season was safety. It became pretty clear early on that we would be fine, so for me it was about fighting for the play offs. To be there, with 2 games left, and going for 2nd...is fantastic and testament to the players and staff. And, obviously, to Mcglynn. There's still 2nd play to aim for, and the playoffs themselves to compete in...and who knows what can happen. But tonight I hope the players and management reflect on a job well done this season. After the disappointment of last Saturday, to win 2 on the bounce away from home, with 4/5 first team starters out - is massive.
grumswall
Mcglynn really is a club legend. Two spells with us and both spells he's taken us from being absolutely shite in league 1 to challenging for promotion to the premiership. Absolutely mental that some questioned his appointment.

pub car king
Is it just me who would rather have the pars than caley thistle finish 4th? That losing run has to end some time but it's a monkey on the back the players could do without.

He was PFA Manager of the Year in 2010-11. Steven Gerrard will win it this year, and deservedly so, particularly if Rangers win the Scottish Cup and go unbeaten in the league, but McGlynn is absolutely pushing him for it. To take a side from League One and go straight to the top end of the Championship, with the style of play that we've shown at times, is phenomenal. You only have to look at the number of football clubs in Scotland at the moment who'd swap their current manager for McGlynn in a heartbeat. Whilst talk of a statue is obviously a little tongue-in-cheek, he can't be too far away from being arguably this club's greatest ever manager.

He hasn't achieved as much as Nicholls did in that spell from 92-95, but unarguably he's started from a far lower base and a lot less in terms of organisation and definitely in terms of players.

After the season when Arbroath lost the league, I had a fear that we were on the verge of becoming another bog standard League 1 side, like Airdrie. 2 years ago a handful of us watched the Rovers give a guard of honour to Arbroath before Easter was finished. If you had told me in 2 years time we would have confirmed top 4 finish in the league above..........

He's essentially done what Frank Connor did, but done it twice and quicker the 2nd time round.
renton
Ultimately though it is about lived experience. I'm 36 and was therefore old enough, just, to enjoy the Nicholls years but not old enough to really understand what it meant for the club at the time. If your older than me, then it will be Nicholl. Younger than me and Nicholl's achievements fade into the abstract. You've lived McGlynn, the low times before and how he has dragged the club up by its bootstraps. For the contemporary club, John McGlynn is inseperable from the club itself. His values and ethos run deep through the whole organisation. Something brought into further relief by the failure f those who managed the club in the interim to leave any kind of legacy, and most of what was left was negative.
