The New Raith Rovers Thread

Cracking result and encouraging that we've gone and given a good account of ourselves against a Premiership side. With the prospect of Murray and Hamilton getting their match fitness up and the players we still have to come back from injury, things look promising.

Disappointing not to win that in the 90 minutes to be honest, we were very good indeed in that 2nd half.  Frustrating that we conceded another goal from a set piece.

I'm not convinced with Big Kev, looks pretty suspect and lacking confidence with crosses.  But, good saves in the shootout - hopefully that helps his confidence.

Another game that we would have won with a decent centre forward on the pitch tbh.  Hopefully we start Murray and Hamilton on Saturday.

All of that said, I'm being a bit harsh there -  we had more shots (or did with not long to go when they flashed the wee graphic on the screen) and had the better chances, without the bulk of possession.  Thats progress - and ultimately reduced Kilmarnock to not much in the way of chances.

Some laugh, that.

Second half was pretty impressive to watch for the most part. Rovers getting a lot of joy routinely on the break.

Dabrowski looks low on confidence but that should do wonders for him. He did incredibly well with the saves.

Can be disappointed not to win in the 90 minutes but it gives meaning to the game at Annan, which is all you could really ask for after the Pars game.

Great entertaining game and brilliant atmosphere at end. Defensive frailties still there but that’s for another day. That extra point is huge. Decent win on Saturday and fingers crossed it’s us through, Pars out.

Even if we don’t go through, looking at the other groups it seems unlikely that the Pars will get through as a best runner-up with 8 points.

Aye. They're out. No chance they'll go through given the number of teams near that with a game to play.

We need to score a few goals to make sure we do get through

Barring an extremely unlikely set of results, a win by a couple of goals should hopefully be enough, but obviously the bigger the win the more likely it is we'll go through.

Given our chance conversion ratio we might need to create at least 20 chances to get the goals we need.

Am I the only one who thought big Kev was good tonight? Aye he doesn’t look  confident in certain aspects of his game but the more he plays I reckon the more confident he’ll get with the other aspects like coming for crosses and all that

Good probably a stretch, but definitely potential there. As you say needs games and confidence. Hopefully with a settled, experienced defence in front of him then it’ll click.
