Cashley's in Forfar offering a lockdown menu so helped them out by placing an order. Absolutely excellent meal. Mozzarella and pesto bruschetta, then a burger (maybe even better than Silverton End's) with caramelised onion, smoked bacon, chunky chips and Cole slaw, then sticky toffee pudding. Mrs SL had the salt and pepper squid starter, burger, and chocolate torte pudding. Finished off with a Malbec from the cellar (erm, one of two bottles in a wine rack). All in all, a bloody good night.

Won’t comment on the meat source but that is a proper barbecue.

You need to buy the 2-pack of "ultimate scotch beef 1/4 pounders"..

Avoid the 4-packs of the other burgers

Naah,

This is what it should look like. It's one of the few things they seem to be better at in the north of England.

Maybe pareidolia, but I'm seeing Donald Trump in that.

Some of the worst lorne known to man, from Lidl.

My own fault for being a lazy b*****d and shopping for convenience rather than flavour.

Not sure I’ve ever bought lorne from Lidl. Do you still have the packet so I know which one never to buy?

Lidl/Aldi meat products usually piss all over what you get in Asda/Tesco etc as well.

In saying that the Malcolm Allen lorne you get in Asda etc is alright.

Frozen log ? Disintegrates into what looks like a Shrivelled digestive and a sea of oil.

Meat content about 1%

Decent Lorne has to have steak in the description. Diddly squat oil released when cooked.

It come like that, but it wasn't Simon Howie (that's shite as well!)

Noted. Will avoid.

The Simon Howie stuff is indeed dreadful. Shrinks to about a 1/4 of it’s pre-cooked size with the texture of a biscuit.
