I've always looked at this argument on here and thought to myself that I say them both

This is why I do and the correct answer on the subject

You get a chippy (your meal) from the chipper (the shop)

#fact

No you get a chippy (your meal) from the chippy (the shop)

Can you not cope with a word that has more than one meaning?

Toasted cheese and chippers are often debated topics along with flat sausage on a roll.

Ahh yes. I thought there was a chippy actually selling sandwiches, which would be madness.

I'm going on a night out tonight. Originally had thought I was meeting my friends for lunch and a couple of pints, however one of them is working until 5pm tonight, thus wouldn't have made it.

As Mrs Adam is working until 8.30 tonight, I'll not get out until about 9.30, and no doubt my two friends will have been in the pub since 6ish.

I also can't get fucked as I'm at home alone with the kids tomorrow.

Looking forward to going out right enough, but feeling a bit pissed off at a number of things.

That hangover when you're looking after the kids.

Been there.
