I went in there in the early 90s and they had a set of unusual uniforms in with the ex-Forces stuff. Turns out it was a set of uniforms from an Apprentice Boys Flute Band. So many questions- had the band, er, disbanded? And who would buy a set of second hand flute band uniforms? Yeah, I mean it’s not like any other bigoted unionist organisations have gone tits up in the past 10 years or so.

They had probably finished the apprenticeship and were now a fully qualified band

I bought this from there a month or two ago hoping it would be similar to the tremendous Subway south west sauce. Nope, it is absolutely fucking gantin. I genuinely now feel bad that I didn't post about it before, and have let another unwitting consumer try this without warning. My sincere apologies.

Granny Danger
Went to Edinburgh for a couple of days. After a few months of walking maybe four or five miles a day at weekends we did 8.5 miles on Wednesday and 13.5 miles yesterday. Noticing the impact today and realising that it’s probably best to work towards such an increase!

Went down through Stockbridge up towards Dean Village yesterday but were turned back as there was an incident on Dean Bridge and the police had closed the path next to the water. Turned back on ourselves then walked back through the centre and up to The Meadows. Then the royal mile and back down and along and back through princes street gardens. Surprised to see work on the big hotel at the start of the george IV bridge; doesn’t seem too long ago it was built. Later we walked back up to the grass market to buy some Raspberry Vodka from Demijohn only to find out it’s closed down! -

I got stuck on the Dean Bridge yesterday too because of an incident (I’m guessing someone went over it). Did you see the minging new St James centre? Not only does it leak but it looks like some 1970s carbuncle.

Didn’t pay much notice to the details and didn’t go in. tamthebam
It's ironic that the actual 1970s carbuncle didn't leak. Architects... Incidentally the dug turd has made it's way onto the badge of East of Scotland new boys Edinburgh College:
