I’ve never got that buzz from it though, I only drink it because it tastes nice and keeps my shitting pattern on track. Tea just tastes like hot water to me. I don’t dislike it, but it doesn’t do much for me. Bovril is king. I started drinking coffee when I started getting tired when long distance driving and found that it woke me right up within 15 minutes of drinking it. I still only drink it when I'm getting tired driving but have have recently found that McDonalds coffee gives me a mild feeling of euphoria for about a minute then keeps me properly buzzing for about 20 minutes. It's like cocaine ÷ 10. I would imagine.

I’ve found that if needing to stay awake through the night that drinking an obscene amount - eg three cafetières in quick succession - can induce a feeling similar to hallucinogenics.
AsimButtHitsASix
I've never found that drinking coffee wakes me up in the slightest. Used to have these weird hours working a bar in Jersey that mean I had to come in and open the bar on a Sunday barely five hours after finishing on the Saturday and quadruple espressos had no effect. I always thought it was a bit of an urban myth.
coprolite
My mate, when we were teenagers, needed to go to work after an all night drinking session so ate about a quarter of a jar of nescafe to try to sober up. It didn't work. He just fell asleep in a pool of espesso vomit.

I used to have to do 36 hour shifts quite regularly and quickly found that coffee was worse than useless for keeping you awake and concentrating. Only thing that worked was drinking loads of water.

No more coffee based anecdotes for her.
MONKMAN
Why do you have to be such a fascist with all of your opinions? A lot of people have their morning routines which involves a coffee and if they don’t get it then it can throw them way off course for the day. Coffee also gets the bowels moving first thing in the morning so not having it can have a bad effect on certain people making them unable to function properly. How did these people ever make it through primary school, without their triple espresso to start the day?

My daughter (13) likes a few iced coffees before going out. She'll also then rattle through a number of coffees if she's working at the stables at weekends.

banana
There is a direct relationship between how virulently anti-Tory someone is and how little they understand about Conservatism. There is a direct relationship between how deeply someone supports left-wing dogma/policy and how deeply resentment is the basis of their character/world view.
