AsimButtHitsASix
I dressed up as Catman one year for Hallowe'en. Started shagging a black lass who, obviously, was ignorant of Greenock's most famous mentally disturbed homeless person, found the photos on Facebook and was not best pleased at first.

It's this kind of bigotry that we must rise up against, and teach our young children to fight in their kindergartens and primary schools. -

I agree in principle that the vast majority doing it are doing it solely for the attention and ‘look at me, I’m helping’ attitude which I despise, whilst taking their £100 sleeping bags, woolly hats and 3 £200 jackets out with them. At the same time I think I read it made something like £2m for homeless charities last year so even if I think most are wankers, it’s clearly helping.

Shandon Par
Roughly £7billion raised each year in the UK for charity. Roughly 31 million taxpayers. This equates to roughly £310 per head, per year. Why not just pay £26pm each more in tax so we don't have to suffer people wanting sponsored for growing a beard, walking round a park in a onesie etc?

Because state-mandated charity is about as conceivably far from the original point of charity. Plus, c***s will keep expecting cash for beards, etc.
vikingTON
Because state-mandated charity is about as conceivably far from the original point of charity. Plus, c***s will keep expecting cash for beards, etc. What do you mean by both ‘state-mandated charity’ and the ‘original point of charity’? Be specific. If enough additional taxes can help the state resolve the main causes of homelessness - which they quite obviously could - then the need of that charitable cause goes away. Which unless you’re in that industry of fundraising or trying to make yourself look good is absolutely the point of donating to charity.

NotThePars
Democracy is a waste of time. Get everyone out of Westminster and Buckingham Palace, machine gun them into the Thames and let someone with tanks, shiny boots and an inordinate amount of medals on his smart uniform run the place. Graeme Souness could do the job IMO. Would love to be the guy in a military uniform who goes on the news to assure everyone that “everything is running as normal.”
