It actually just shows you the importance of being in the Championship, minimum. Dunfermline’s prize money being just short of double ours for finishing 6th. That’s pretty stark.

...or that Livingstones prize money, who will be competing with us, is about £300K more than the entire prize money for the ten teams who compete in League 1. It's nearly 10x our prize money.

+ Parachute payments, not sure how much that equates too.

On the flipside it shows how massive an opportunity next season is if say Raith stay down. There won't be a scenario for years where the team coming down from the Premier is so lacking in financial resources.

If County come down they'll have more prize money, parachute payments and a rich owner.

True, and Livvi also have an approx £900K payment (on top of league prize money and parachute payments) from a European Fund too, think they have about £2.5M coming their way in total.

The whole artificial surface debate stems down to the two ugly sisters losing a couple games on it over the years. Every time Killie or Livingston beat them at their own grounds, the argument comes out. If Celtic and rangers pumped these teams every time they played them it wouldn't even be a debate.

What's better for the teams in the league system as a whole? That they are able to play every week throughout the season, train on the same park, also have others use the park without great detriment to the pitch, or a grass park that can potentially cause disruption  to the season due to being frozen over/waterlogged?

'But it looks shite on the tele!?'

Nothing but pandering to the nuggets that lap it up.  Clubs with astro pitches have an advantage over those that don't but it's got absolutely f**k all to do with how the ball moves or how it affects players.  It's not having to maintain a grass pitch, fork out for for additional training facilities, and run undersoil heating during this peak in energy prices (that shows no sign of going away)  that and a healthy dose of deflection.  I also suspect that clubs in the premiership have seen how many clubs have made the switch in the last 10 years and are simply trying their luck at imposing another exclusionary rule that could protect them against relegation.

f**k them

Two separate, but also related, questions.

When is GTF day? Looking forward to changing my bookmarks back from League One to the Championship forum.

Any idea roughly when the new strip is out? Looking forward to lobbing more of my money at O’Neills next sexy effort.

Thanks x

Which means you’ve snapped the players wearing the home kit already? 👀😉

No, the last time I asked no arrangements had been made and a date hadn't been set. O Neills are coming over to visit all their clubs at the end of May so if they bring their own media staff with them it's possible they'll do all the promotional stuff themselves.

That’s a vote going to be held on the banning of artificial pitches. Needs a 9-3 split to carry and would be effective from 2026-27 season if passed.

edit : for the top flight, obviously.

Such a typical Scottish football response to the entire issue. Instead of having a proper discussion about it; the pros and cons, the benefits to the community, why clubs would choose to have a plastic vs. grass pitch, the cost of moving from artificial to grass upon potential promotion; perhaps the implemention of higher minimum standards for any artificial pitches being laid - let's just ban them full stop.

It'll pass and it's a joke.

Announced on STV news and a few others in last five minutes. Also notice it’s a 9-3 vote. What happened to the 11-1 ?

Must have been changed with the knowledge that Raith have a chance being in the premiership next season so better to safeguard their clubs just in case.

Of course it will pass. Said weeks ago about the seriousness of banning plastic. Kilmarnock would have been a sticking plaster, shock & out the blue and after spending close to 1 million on a new plastic surface, the plastic is being ripped up. They’ve obviously had the nod and leaves it clear that next seasons top league have no plastic (Killie pending)

Fckn stinking from top to bottom and with Livi out the way, mob rules once again.
