dogmc
Worth noting that theres already a few folk shouting down the critics by claiming they only dislike her because shes blackWhich is a predictable response since there is no credible defence to how annoying the character appears in the trailer. Its the last resort to fling the race card especially when noone has mentioned the ethnicity of the actress and the previous posts have been criticising characters who were white. Almost all the critics here and elsewhere have talked about how poorly written and formulaic the character is (in keeping with the recent decline in storylines) and ive not seen any mention at all of anything about the skin colour of the actress herself. Lets be honest she might be a fantastic actress and it may prove to be a fabulous character.....but not on the evidence of that trailer. If the bbc dont want people making snap judgements hey....dont make a song and dance about a 'formal announcement ' of a new companion and dont make the trailer so utterly dreadful. Someone in the production team must have realises how poor it was. If they genuinely thought it was good.....well sooner the new team comes in the better.

Zen Archer (Raconteur)
Fear the tenacity of John Barrowman. The former Doctor Who and current Arrow star has already managed to resurrect Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood as a series of audio dramas and comic books, but now he’d clearly decided that isn’t enough – because he’s trying to get it back on TV too. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-07-24/john-barrowman-is-in-talks-to-get-torchwood-back-on-tv

DA Baracus
Dr Who can get to f**k now. It's become far too stale and shite. It needs a good few years away at least.
drs
Animated Power of the Daleks to be announced at midnight, for BBC store - 5th November, DVD expected at the end of November. OMNI is dead. (if you were still believing in it)
Bully Wee Villa
Omni has been dead for ages. The next best thing is animated episodes so hopefully Power will sell well and they will start to release other missing stories in this format too.

Bully Wee Villa
That's Evil of the Daleks. Episode 2, where Victoria first appears, actually exists. You can watch it online. The others are all missing, you can watch recons, or listen to the soundtrack if you're so inclined.

accies1874
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04b9924 I don't know if I can be bothered with it anymore. Most of last season was awful, but there were a couple of good episodes, and the penultimate one was one of the best DW episodes in years.
RandomGuy.
Looks like they've decided to continue turning it into a CBBC show. An utter fucking waste.
scottsdad
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm looking forward to a new Doctor. Capaldi - great though he is - just isn't floating my boat here.
Bully Wee Villa
I feel largely the same. I'm a huge Thick of It fan and was wanting an older Doctor since the reboot. I still can't quite get a handle on him though. He's two series in and doesn't seem to have settled into the role. It doesn't help that he's often played second fiddle to Clara, rather than being completely the centre of attention as the character nearly always was in prior incarnations. Maybe he will get to be really good just as he's leaving, like Peter Davison.
dogmc
Think the problem is less capaldi and more the scripts. Last cpl series have had very few stand out episodes and the bbc seem to have decided that as it's a kids show no main characters should die. There's no dramatic tension anymore and no intimidating bad guys. It's even dafter when you think how many of the kids who watch will play cod and gta. Absolutely criminal not to have had a full blown malcolm tucker Dr episode as well.
meanmistermustard
Been terrible for a while with only Capaldi being the reason to watch, and not even he was enough for me to bother with last years Christmas episode. You know everyone good is going to survive whilst the baddie will die, all after a twist, so what is the point? The new companion and scripts look like the BBC have decided that kids/teens are the target and to hell with everything else.
