Rangers are being shafted by Duff and Duffer to the tune of £57k a week, no doubt about that. Absolutely hung out of. All the while they are still spewing cash from every pore and this pair of shysters won't even cut a single cost! Anyone buying Rangers right now wanting to save the company from liquidation would pretty much have to be willing to write off the best part of £60m plus, BTC dependent. No businessman in his right mind would be willing to write off an investment of that size given 100% prior knowledge that there would be no return on it, it is completely written off. I doubt anyone would want to buy The Rangers FC plc... currently heavily indebted, and with a tax case cloud hanging over its head. Lets say Broadfoot is on some kind of scary wage such as 8k a week. They need to get rid of 31 Broadfoots. Should be no problem for D&P what the panic. It would be interesting if someone could come up with a way of them making £1,000,000 of cuts without cutting all high earners and even the players who have sell on value. Another point is the staff would then become creditors and have to agree to a CVA like Billy Dodds did not. This is a point ignored by many people in the press. If the average length of the staff contracts is say 2 years. Then rangers would have £24 millions worth of new creditors. Which all adds up to a CVA not being possible. I think the fact that the club are racked with debt and have a potential £50 million tax liability might be slightly more off putting, I doubt losing a few players worth a few hundred thousand pounds is really going to matter. I can just imagine the thought process - 'aye, Rangers were quite an attractive business proposition, but now they've released Steven Davis and Kirk Broadfoot it's just not worth it, I'm out'. By my reckoning, there are 16 weeks between now and the opening of the next transfer window. For it to be worth keeping someone on £8,000 a week, they'd have to sell for at least £128,000.
