Sfa will not allow rfc newco into spl says Stewart Regan

Based on that there is no need for the SPL to vote tomorrow (should save some Chairman a bit of face!), in which case the SFL need to vote now...none of this fortnight notice. They're all there now..get it done and over with

Why? They signed a deal that says someone pays £ABC, for a product they regard as having a certain value... and that if that product alters significantly (through removal of something which contributes a large amount of the value) they can renegotiate or walk away.

It doesn't say Rangers must be in SPL... it says TV doesn't have to pay £ABC for something whose value has reduced.

I hope when Doncaster goes he takes you with him. Creepy apologist cunt.

Why has it take Regan months to say that? A lot of this posturing could have been avoided.

A 'sensible' answer is that they are not satisfied with the documents lodged by NewCo on Friday in support of the transfer of SFA share from Rangers (IA).

Its possible that SFA have only told him within the last few days or mibbee that UEFA have had a quiet word in the SFA's lugghole??ph34r.gif

Sfa will not allow rfc newco into spl says Stewart Regan

WTF!?

So all we've heard today is a secret deal to allow Sevco entry to the SPL, with Neil Cockwomble Doncaster spouting out warnings of FINANCIAL ARMAGEDDON if Sevco don't get to leapfrog SFL2 and 3 upon election, and now Regan comes out with this peach!?

You'd think that Regan and Doncaster would have agreed on a common way forward before today's SFL meeting, but no, it sounds like a complete fukking shambles. Oh dear...

Any contract that has specified either cheek of the OF needing to be in the top 6 is reason enough to sack Doncaster, the contracts breach any fair attempt at competition in the league. As many have said, what would happen if Green or Blue didn't get into the top 6?

Then they'd not be in the Top 6.

The way the league works is set out perfectly clearly in SPL rules.

There won't be a contract that says Rangers / Celtic must be in the Top 6, must play 4 times, even must play in SPL: there may be (infact evidently is) a contract that says TV doesn't have to pay-up regardless for Xyrs if they aren't.

Sky wouldn't pull a deal completely, there would be negotiation over a price. Scottish football is already sold short in terms of tv revenue and Sky aren't the only game in town now that BT have shown their hand in buying up english football rights. Add espn in to the mix and there are three parties surely the spl and however else can negotiate some sort of deal with.

Chris McLaughlin@BBCchrismclaug #Rangers chairman Malcolm Murray apologises to Scottish football for the current mess.

Please die more quietly

It's hardly an apology. He deftly shifts the blame when he says:

I apologise unreservedly to all for the distress, disruption and difficulty inflicted on the football community, caused entirely by the actions of people who failed miserably to act responsibly during their stewardship of Rangers.

Not with Doncaster at the helm they can't.

Ah totally but Doncaster probably thought he could sway opinion with his scare mongering and change minds. He'll report back saying no danger boys and some SPL "nos" may become "yes" - it's all guesswork at minute but unsure as to why SFL clubs need to meet until Newco officially told to GTF.

I think Doncaster - and his real puppet-master at Celtic Park - are way out of their depth trying this. That said, there is on the face of it a credible reason for discussing proposals today. It's July 3rd, if clubs wanted to go with Zombie Rangers + reconstruction then they'd have about four weeks to hold the relevant votes and organisation at every level of the game. It's incredible how late in the day this is developing: Morton for example are starting their pre-season friendlies today...

Would like to see more detail on the SFA's position. At the moment it is fucking bizarre to say the least.
