On Her Majesty's Secret Service 8/10

The poor bugger had no chance stepping into Sean's shoes. Had Connery appeared this would be considered one of the finest Bonds of all time. It certainly has one of the best soundtracks. It's just about the only Bond film that finishes on a down beat moment.

Lazenby is the dogs testicles and John Barry puts in the greatest movie score ever.

Take your hankies for "Casino Royale" if you down beat moments make you sob.

Just back from Bond 21.

Absolutely great. Craig is brilliant as Bond - very dark, but not afraid to let a vulnerable, emotional Bond creep in now and again.

Great action set-pieces, witty dialogue and humour, and great for poker geeks like me :D

I'd give it an 8/10. Nah in fact hell, I'll give it a 9/10.

All 3 Bond Girls shaped up very, very nicely indeed... ;)

I've seen Saw 3 and Napoleon Dynamite in the past few days.

Saw 3 - 8/10 - Good psychological thiller, just on the right side of grotesque.

Napoleon Dynamite - 0/10 - I've heard nothing but praise for this, but it's absolute gash!

At least your not like the guy who earlier couldn't decide if Napoleon Dynamite was 0/10 or 10/10

I've had it in the house for ages, haven't watched it yet.

I watched Battle Royale 2 on the telly last night - having thought the first one was alright, I stupidly thought the sequel might follow suit. After a reasonable start, it quickly deteriorated into one of the worst films I have ever seen.

1/10

Totally agree with Napoleon Dynamite, complete garbage. I wondered if I was missing something, but then realised I had taste and humour and that was what others were missing :D

As for Saw 3, downloaded it the other night and while the first two were class, full of gore, 3 was pants as it was mostly about the story. Less acting more blood, get it together guys.

Weird seeing a fat version of the bloke in Braveheart though

Didn't go to Pittodrie today so being at a loose end I went to see The Prestige.

Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman play two magicians in 19th century London. Michael Caine is a sort of advisor, Scarlet Johanssen plays Jackman's glamorous assistant and David Bowie and Andy Serkis have small roles.

Like one of Christopher Nolan's previous movies, Memento, The Prestige jumps about a lot chronologically. Indeed, the first spoken line of the film is "are you watching closely?" and you most certainly do need to watch closely as the story zips around.

However it is quite excellent and the twist ending has just enough clues leading up to it for you to see it all coming...if you are watching closely. :)

Definitely recommended 8/10

Red Road 8/10

Unremittingly bleak and grim just how's I like my films.

Pretty tense Glasgow set film which features Martin 'Dr Morton' Compston in the cast. Found the end quite moving.

Went to see that tonight - it was better than I thought it was going to be after 20 minutes, but not spectacular.

6.5/10

Saw III is by far the goriest of the three films.

It's also the best.

I saw the trailer for this at the cinema a couple of months back, and nothing about it made me want to see it. My reaction to it was, 'I have no idea what its about, and despite it being made in Scotland, it doesn't appeal in the slightest'.

And finding out that Martin 'ned who can only play neds' Compston is in it has only emphasised my desire to never, ever watch it.
