Fallout 4

I think I'm officially done now, only thing to do would be to get all the achievements and I can't be arsed with that.

Found 256 locations, think there's 315ish from googling, probably a good chunk of them in the glowing sea or right at the south of the map, and have done all the side quests I can. Got to maximum affinity with Codsworth, Cait, Curie, and McCready, although the latter wouldn't sleep with me, his loss. His max affinity perk (no spoilers) is ludicrous though, game becomes farcically easy after that.

Assuming some DLC is coming I might get back into it in a few months though I said the same with Skyrim and never did. Having never played any previous fallout game I probably slightly prefer it to Skyrim although I think in Skyrim you can build different character types more easily, I didn't ever see much point in playing this as a stealth player or melee weapon specialist, the pistols and rifles you can pick up even early on are too good.

Certainly very good, 8.5/10 from me. The settlements idea was nice but it's almost an entirely separate game and doesn't affect how the story plays out at all. Plus once I'd built Sanctuary up to be as good as I could make it I had no appetite to do anything other than the bare minimum at other settlements.

Also, I know it's willing suspension of disbelief etc but that many ghouls and semi retained buildings for a warhead hitting a few km away? Total obliteration seems more likely, and don't get me started on someone spending 210 years in a fridge, ghoul or no ghoul.

Also, you can romance Hancock- given that no ghouls have noses, do any of the male ones have penises? These things need answered (in my head).

The area surrounding Vault 95 is fucking stupid dangerous. From there I faced two Assaultrons, three Mirelurk kings and a trio of Super Mutants all packing miniguns.

I just slaughtered all of Diamond city.

Once I'm powerful enough I intend on wiping out most areas. My last play on New Vegas was me on a Mojave Genocide mission. Was very pleasing.

Same here, Friday nights tend to be when I get decent game time. A couple beers and something like this until 2 or 3 in the morning. Usually my missus goes daft if she wakes up and sees the time I go to bed.

Same for me on payday this month, she is staying in Glasgow for Jason Derulo then going to the saints game at tynecastle the next day. In years gone by I would have been out on a mad one but I'll be on lockdown playing fallout 4 and alien isolation for two days

Age is a terrible thing :(

I've started letting my son play it, just so I can sit and "help him" to ensure some daytime game time.

If my wife finds out its an 18 I'm fucked. He's only 8....

The USS Institution is hysterical stuff. Pay a visit if not made it yet. Also finally did the Silver Shroud missions which were a joy when responding in the Shroud voice.

The best part is just how fucking moronic Captain Ironsides is

Watching them gloriously set sail is the best bit

I'm amazing at this game - if I can stand 200 yards away and use my sniper rifle.

As soon as anything comes near me I shit it and die. Doubt anyone else has been killed so often by mongrels and ghouls :(

I'm about Level 30, dealt with the Mirelurk Queen, Behemoths, Deathclaws and a pack of ten Super Mutants.

Got killed by three Blood bugs the other day...

Accidentally cleared quincy ruins and did kid in a fridge last night. Random indeed.

Blood bugs get the two shot 10mm with the massive magazine. Little fucks

Blood bugs are terrifying. They're tricky to hit and do tons of damage, especially when there's more than 1.

Shotguns are your friend against those fuckers.

I would say blood bugs are 100% the hardest enemy in the game. I can take down behemoths, deathclaws, mirelurks, assaultrons etc. Single handedly.

A group of 3 or 4 blood bugs and I get my arse handed to me.

Wandered into the Glowing sea for the first time last night, was surprisingly eventless really, apart from twice being attacked by groups of Radscorpions with a Legendary Hunter in their ranks.

I broke the mission before that point. They were all ready to set sail, then the scavengers attacked. I wanted to side with the robots and their mad boat, but must've killed one of them by mistake, as they all turned on me and I got the mission failed message.

So I went and killed them all. f**k 'em.

I'm starting to get a bit bored with the game to be honest. I've just reached the Institute, and thought I'd ballsed it up completely. I totally forgot Desmedona (think I've just sided with the Railroad) repeatedly told me to say whatever I needed to say to get into the Institute, and then told the guy in there that "nah, I'm not joining you". Had to go back and say I'd "reconsidered". Might just charge through the main quest, then a charge around the map to make sure I've found all locations, then move on. Although the world is probably the greatest I've ever seen in a game, the lack of depth in quests is quite glaring the further you go on.
