FlyerTon
Someone's nicked the plane New, these planes cost $261.5 million. Somebody mentioned it could have been hijacked and they are negotiating with the Chinese over say a $50 million pay out. This would not be made public apparently if they are negotiating.
jagfox
Sadly people who choose to fly on these death traps are Masters of their own fate Edited March 15, 2014 by jagfox144
Tommy Nooka
It's certainly going to do wonders for South Asian tourism. They can say with 100% accuracy that it'll be the holiday of a lifetime.
Alert Mongoose
This is just utterly bizarre Authorities now convinced it has been hijacked. I'm sure it is not alien activity but I wonder if it turned out it was I wonder how we would react? What the f**k would be do? Would we combine forces in the world to counteract it or just wander around waiting for us to be next?
jagfox
I reckon S.P.E.C.T.R.E. are behind it. Are there any islands with large dormant volcanoes in the vicinity?

Why would 'the Chinese' (by which I assume you mean the government) rile the international community for the sake of $50,000,000
Gaz
Why would 'the Chinese' (by which I assume you mean the government) rile the international community for the sake of $50,000,000I read it as he thinks it may have been hijacked by some third party and they are trying to get the Chinese to pay them $50m to release the plane.

Enigma
I reckon S.P.E.C.T.R.E. are behind it. Are there any islands with large dormant volcanoes in the vicinity? Hopefully a British gentleman spy is assembling a crack team of Japanese martial arts experts as we speak.
FlyerTon
Why would 'the Chinese' (by which I assume you mean the government) rile the international community for the sake of $50,000,000 An aviation specialist was saying this as a possible scenario on the TV this morning and if it were going on it would not be in the public domain. I would imagine the Chinese would keep it hush hush as it could compromise the operation if they made it public.
Newbornbairn
This would be the Chinese with a notoriously bad human rights record? Do you think they'll pay ransoms? Is China suddenly short of people?
FlyerTon
The same guy on the TV this morning also said if the plane did land somewhere, they would have to hide it (e.g. in a hangar) as it would probably be picked it up on spy satellites by now. The plane heading north-west and data from it being picked up for 7 hours? Edited March 15, 2014 by FlyerTon
DA Baracus
Wormhole clearly. The plane's in another galaxy with furious passengers demanding a refund.
harry94
Is it possible that it sort of piggy backed on something else to be interpreted by radar as another plane? My money is on this being viral marketing for a Lost return.
