Yet Aberdeen are still the third or fourth best team in the country.

The Dons team that went out of Europe at the same stage as this one or the last one that went any further in Europe (with Darren Mackie up front)? Not saying Scottish football is great, but we punch about our weight in Europe. Were there many other 3rd place teams from comparable leagues in the playoffs? Anyway, my point was that I don't believe McInnes is safe because of how he has done before and I'm not convinced that over the season we will be 3rd or 4th. And you can stick your shitty Wayne's world Sarcastic banter right up your hole.

I wasn't trying to make any case for or against him. Aberdeen Cowden suggested if we keep him off the back of a 3rd place finish and cup run but with shite football then it was an indictment of Scottish football. I was merely saying any club would find it difficult to sack a manger that is ultimately achieving their football objectives. FWIW, if Mcinnes was to leave tomorrow in a mutual agreement, he'd go with my best wishes and gratitude for how far we've come in his time. I wouldn't mourn it too long and would have a bit of excitement at fresh ideas. I probably defend him more than I should because I think the abuse he gets is outrageous, even if ultimately it is the right time for a change.

That's pretty much how I feel as well but I remember having similar feelings about Claderwood at the end too. I'd like to think they'd only punt him if they had a plan in mind rather than getting rid and ending up with another McGhee or Brown.

Brown was brought in to stop the rot too. In regards to who wold replace him, it's a tough one. You never know who is available and who fancies it. If you'd asked me 6 months ago who I'd want managing my club and it was McInnes or Arteta, it would be McInnes every time. Early days obviously but Arteta looks like he's going to be more than competent. 1 minute ago, logie skid boys said: So who is this positive news with new signing arriving before Sunday . Rodhull
The lad Giles was on the bench for Wolves last night. Think they have some injuries in his position so he was recalled for cover. I would guess from that he wouldn't be let go until they bring someone else in.

Robinson's done a good job at Motherwell but as you say both McGhee and Brown did too. Unless Cormack used his contacts to line up someone a bit left field. Don't think theres any obvious candidates. Tommy Wright has done a decent job at St Johnstone but they seem to be on the decline now so I'm guessing his days of being linked with bigger jobs may be over.
