It puts other people who have to come and get them lives at risk. She was on the news just there and mentioned that their car is a hybrid. The way she said it, I honestly believe she thinks that means it’s amphibious.

She made her choice, she can wait until those who couldn't leave get out or better still until the water subsided. The cynic in me thinks she's been quick enough get face on news so she goes bottom queue and fire brigade can tell her touch shit you made a choice. Probably been giving a running commentary on her Facebook too. same wifey was being interviewed by the BBC yesterday before it got too soggy, she knew exactly what was happening

Hedgecutter
There seems to be a common theme here in that people have been normalised to flooding down in that part of the town over the years and were probably viewing this as 'just another flood', without fully considering that things would be significantly different when adding over double the volume this time around. I'm wondering how effective this was in halting a river: Eta: Seriously, how in the name of Christ can you have MSM reporters on the ground in Brechin (or anywhere for that matter) for over 24hrs who still don't know how to pronounce the town's name? Shirley it has to be a green screen in a London studio seeing as the place has had more on-screen time than Gaza over the past day? I doubt they're interested in any lectures on pronunciation, from the deranged part of the world that uses the term 'chipper'. -

Flooding is bad enough, but having Rudy Giuliani as a neighbour would be worse.

You did the right thing, better to steady yourself and go again.
