shuggz
Was having a discussion about this with the lad yesterday ,and we came up with the answer... Before a ball is kicked ,a draw is made with the numbers 1-12, into 3 groups of 4.. e.g. 1,5,10,12....4,8,9,11...2,3,6,7.... after 33 games, the league splits to 3 mini leagues following the above poaitions, h and a... 39 games, and some interesting game tactics to try to get/avoid certain teams. If you don't like it, Ill blame the boy.

The Premiership now only exists to keep Celtgers' players match fit for their European adventures humiliations. But aye, reconstruction thread for this pish. Connor1874
The most pointless thing for me about the winter break, is the congested fixture list that immediately follows it to catch up. Since it came in, there's always around 3 rounds of midweek fixtures which can impact attendances too. Personally, I enjoy midweek games and often Hearts are at home on midweek matchdays so doesn't overly bother me. But, for the benefit of attendances, midweek games should be played more in the summer months.
craigkillie
The issue is that midweek games mostly can't be played in the summer months because UEFA basically cannibalise near enough every midweek between July and November and March and May.

Who really gives a f**k if your team finishes 6th instead of 7th? Right now, finishing 6th has the financial advantage of league placement, typically playing the bigger teams and being able to plan ahead for next season. But you have to put up with extra games against the bigot brothers and suffer a couple pumpings. If you finish 7th you might get a bit less dosh but you play 5 more winnable games and, since you'll likely be safe, have a better opportunity to blood in some youngsters. The advantages and disadvantages balance themselves out. Maybe one way to equal it a bit would be to split the league pot bases on final points rather than league positions (so in theory if 7th place team has more points than 6th they would receive more money at the end of the season). Other than that, the split is absolutely fine for a country our size and separates our end of season from the EPL-lite that some people seem determined for us to be.

Finishing 7th at the split is by no means “safe”. Hibs managed to get relegated from such a position. Their fans were laughing at Hearts at the start of the split. -

I'd wager no more than a couple.

Dirty Sanchez
What the actual f**k? "The difference for fans of other clubs in the top flight is that they are invariably able to watch their team in every home game and away match due to demand – but with away allocations tighter, the vast majority of Celtic followers have no choice but to pay out for live streams." Nope, can't see the flaw in that narrative.
Ranaldo Bairn
Thistle boys still reeling after getting royally pumped 5 times when they made the top 6 a few years ago. Not having a go; I wish we'd made it there to have the opportunity! A couple of 7th places was our best, and we were 9 minutes away from it at fucking Pittodrie.
Miguel Sanchez
I've said it before: One giant league of 42, every team plays each other once.

Nope, can't see the flaw in that narrative. Those poor Celtic fans are really being stung by the number of away matches they have on PPV. Lest we forget the literal blackout away fans at Celtic Park had for many months as they were neither allowed in the stadium or given a PPV option by Celtic.

craigkillie
Richard Gordon claimed on Sportsound that officially it would go down as a 5-3 win on penalties for Hearts today.

That's some weird historical thing, I'm sure it happened at least once to Celtic in a European tie.
