Tamdunk
Brosnan was a quality Bond imo. He's such a smarmy p***k which suits Bond perfectly. Goldeneye is ace. Tnd is pretty shit, but surprisingly watchable. The world is not enough has some cracking birds in it. Die another day has no redeeming features. Sloop John B
My favourite Bond film is The Spy Who Loved Me which is also the only Roger Moore one I actually like. The intro is also the best start to any movie ever as narrated by Alan Partridge.

If you are using cracking birds as redeeming features for TWINE, then DAD should get the same courtesy with Rosamund Pike.
peasy23
Dalton!? Fucking hell. Awful Bond. After growing up watching Connery and Moore I used to think the same, it was only after reading the books that I really understood where he had got his "angle" from. Surely Connery plays it pretty much the same in the first couple anyway though? Dr No and From Russia with Love are low on gadgets and high on him just basically murdering people. killienick
Dalton is a great Bond. Those 2 films have aged better than every Moore film which all just come across very 'Carry On', (still love Live and Let Die though). Favourite Bonds are Live and Let Die, License to Kill, You Only Live Twice, Goldfinger and Casino Royal.

I like Dalton, but don't think Licence to Kill has aged much better than the early Moore ones, or even For Your Eyes Only. The whole Evangelist bit is very silly for example. edited for idiotic spelling etc.

Bert Raccoon
I thought the Dalton films were excellent, particularly Licence To Kill. Tried to watch the ones with Bronson but they just didn't entertain me at all.
Ira Gaines
I quite liked Brosnan as Bond, even if two of the movies he did were mung. I liked Tomorrow Never Dies, as ludicrous as it was, and Goldeneye. Don't really have a Bond that I didn't like, but Moore is probably my least favourite. And License to Kill is probably my second favourite Bond movie, behind Goldfinger.
Enigma
Big fan of Dalton, more of a Living Daylights man myself though. I liked the 'Cold War' feel to it and it was really the last time they could do that. I know there was a rights issue hence no bond film for about 7-6 years from the late 80s to mid 90s and I know Dalton was contracted for a third movie. I wonder does anybody know if it was to be Goldeneye, or was that conceived after Dalton was out of the picture? Edit to add: Nothing comes close to You Only Live Twice when it comes to Bond films. So incredibly of its era but the dialogue is superb. Can sense the Dahl influence. Lots of 'Economic Miracle' era Tokyo too, an interesting time for an interesting place. I'm sure they were legally obliged to offer Goldeneye to Dalton, but he turned it down, which is a shame as it's a cracking Bond film, but it could have been spectacular with him instead of Brosnan. Ray Vaughn
I think Craig is overrated as Bond. Casino Royale is a cracking film (Martin Campbell has made some great movies) but QoS suffered from a shite plot (due to the writers strike it just wasn't finished). SKYFALL is way overrated. Shite villain and the film doesn't improve with repeated viewings (the true test of great Bond) The joy of Bond is lost when they removed the gadgets (ok the invisible car took it too far!) and Bond should always be a joyous experience. What do you want - an exploding pen? Hell Yes! Brosnan was a great Bond. First three were great (TND is my favourite of the three) but Die Another Day was the right time to end Brosnan's reign as it just didn't work as a movie. I'm a Moore fan myself (yes I'm in my 40s) but the biggest regret is that Connery didn't make OHMSS. It's a great movie in every respect except the public didn't take to Lazenby and his fairly wooden acting. If Connery had made OHMSS it would have been considered the greatest Bond ever - imagine the final scene.

milton75
At the time I wanted Clive Owen to be offered Bond rather than Daniel Craig. I haven't yet decided if I've changed my mind on that...

Jim McLean's Ghost
I'm not a fan of OHMSS, the structure of the film is the most annoying thing and some of the comedy doesn't hit the mark. It is a strange interpretation from Lazenby and isn't complimented by the director. For example the safe cracking scene has a lot of tension in the score and shots of watches meanwhile Bond is looking at play boy. Is he playing cool while everything else is building tension gives it a slapstick feel. Also the love story between Bond and Tracy is not for modern viewing. She clearly has a mental illness, then things are fixed with a love montage but just a few scenes later Bond is trying to bang everything in sight. Then the way she is offed has no focus on her at all, she doesn't get a dying line, she is reduced to a prop. It is a good movie in places but the whole thing doesn't tie together in a satisfying way. Better than most of the Moore efforts and could have been brilliant if they tweaked how the plot developed.
