Popular Post J_Stewart Posted August 4 Popular Post Share Posted August 4 Whilst the long and short is that these people are f**king scumbags, some actually f**king evil, and hefty prison sentences will be earned across the board (especially for the hotel burning: attempted murder minimum), the discussion round root cause and future solution is what really needs to come out of this. Aside from the fact that cautious Keir and this Labour Party would rather do their normal and abstain than make any form of consequential decision, the big problem for them is how complex a job that root and branch is. As is being touched on, huge blame needs to be pointed at the two main parties at Westminster. Predominantly the vile tories and scum like Farage, Nick Griffin, Yaxley-Lennon and their ilk (who they absolutely flirt with / take the lead from) who have been openly bigoted for decades, but also huge number of Labour representatives as well (Blair, Brown, Starmer purging the left, Friends of Israel faction, etc). The political decision making (despicable foreign policy, public spending and benefits cuts increasing poverty whilst lessening services and opportunities, education, etc) and rhetoric has vilified foreigners (specifically brown people, and more specifically Muslims) for decades now. It’s not just them though. The media obviously have a huge part to play, and not just the openly fash scumbaggery of the likes of the mail and express, but the “broadsheets” have deteriorated exponentially in the last decade, and the BBC’s “both siding” and providing platforms to scumbags has been a huge factor in amplifying firstly mistrust, and then outright hatred. This has obviously only been amplified by social media as well, which is around 15% funny, 85% evil at this point. A largely unregulated but hugely targeted means of amplifying the absolute worst in society and mis-information to that end, there is absolutely no doubt it has been normalising openly racist and bigoted viewpoints for years now, especially with scum like Andrew Tate et al openly indoctrinating young men in to believing the world is against them and they have to “fight back to be an alpha male” and other pish. Add to all that the pre-existing “generational racism” from a small percentage of cretins that every country is going to have, and you essentially have a multi-faceted breeding ground for bigotry. Throw in the prevalence of alcohol, drugs and good old fashioned mob mentality, and the violence on display isn’t that surprising even if it is utterly disgusting. It’s easy to refer to them as thick racists, because the majority are, but that’s arisen as a result of decades of socio-economic and socio-political decision making and factors. An immediate initiative around acceptable rhetoric, and how that’s policed throughout traditional and social media is required as an absolute priority, but measures to vastly improve the most deprived areas of the island economically has to happen simultaneously, or these periodic outbreaks of violence we’ve seen over the last decade are going to continue, probably more frequently, and probably with more and more dire consequences. Sadly, I don’t think either of these things will happen or improve whilst we’re forever governed by evil, selfish cretins, be they blue or red.
