The even more subtle shift is the "why do we pay for the things Scots get but we don't?".

They genuinely believe this way of thinking instead of questioning why they are not asking for the same.

Aye, there's been a propaganda war to portray Scots as entitled spongers for a quite a while now - it's always a shock to see quite how casually that assumption is thrown about in English media and, as a consequence, the general populace. It's obviously a useful tool designed to stop people in England questioning why they aren't receiving the same treatment; we must somehow be the bad guys, not their political leaders.

The danger for the ruling class in England is that, if their finger-pointing remains successful, it'll eventually lead to demands that something must be done to impoverish Scotland, or to break up the union altogether. Leaving the EU will have its benefits for England's owners in the long term - obliteration of human rights, dropping wages to undercut the EU in manufacturing, isolating the nation from alternate views of events, etc - but I'm not sure that there are many benefits to further inciting a struggle to keep our resources and strategic placement.

Quite so.

I don't think that the SNP make enough of our policy differences with England.

Policy differences with England are as relevant to peoples lives in Scotland as policy differences with any other nation state.

If anything the policy differences show how much we can diverge with existing powers. Which might be why the SNP is reluctant to point them out.

It's rather amusing that because the Tories had Brexit, they aren't allowed to have the support amongst younger voters for right wing parties that is currently happening in Europe and Canada.

The latest Redfield Wilton effort has Reform in second place among Gen Z voters and they also have the most followers on TikTok apart from Labour.

Zoomer Brits aren’t immune to the current trend towards the far right, the Tory brand is toxic though. Absolute NAP that Farage’s latest effort will hoover up voters from the right wing 18-24 year olds.

Buffer zones bill passes into law at Holyrood by 118-1. Presumably the 1 was Mason, again.

How the f**k did that cretin ever get selected to stand?

Surely one of the questions in every selection meeting is “do you accept that the earth is more than 5,000 years old?”.

One thing you can say about Mason is at least he's consistent in his views.

Consistently a c**t mind you, but consistant all the same.

What I've gleaned from Twitter is that his public career is now over but his life itself might have a bit to go yet, depending on recovery. His final public media appearance was an interview with Piers Morgan, which is funny. I watched it back when it was published on Youtube and was pleasantly surprised. It's very reverential from Morgan and even has a slight "This is Your Life" feel to it.

£1.4 billion of PPE destroyed.  This is from a single who got rich and has subsequently moved their business offshore for ‘privacy’ reasons so no-one can see how much money they made.  Prior to COVID they made an annual profit of £800k; you can bet that they made a wee bit more on this deal.

Not nearly enough has been down to expose the level of this scandal and/or to hold people accountable.

Are you suggesting that the company or owners did something wrong?

Legally?  It doesn’t look like it; the article is at pains to point this out.  Of course sometimes the laws are not suited to black swan events like public procurement during an extreme and unexpected global pandemic.

Morally?  Yes, anyone making excess profits off the back of the Covid should be judged harshly.  The fact they moved the business registration offshore suggests excess profits.

I would suggest they are greedy, grubby profiteers.  Maybe you disagree.

PS you’ve still not said who you’re voting for.
