The squad is very thin and it's disappointing that we not sign at least one more defender before the transfer deadline. Loan window is still open, which I assume is where we were looking anyway. I think we can also still get free agents at any time as long as they were free agents before the transfer deadline, but I'm not 100% on that. In any case, does anyone actually care about tomorrow's game?

I care about tomorrow's game as I'd like us to win a trophy. -

Duty) McKenna, Brownlie, Bell (Injury) Hastie (Cup-tied) I think another defender is definitely needed for cover at least, but the loan window is still open (too late for tomorrow’s match however).

I reckon ICT's highest earners will earn more than ours, but our overall budget will be slightly more. Its been said before by someone else, but Hamilton might well have money in the bank, but it doesnt mean that money is directly into their budget. Based on moves this summer, Id be surprised if we didnt have the 3rd highest budget tbh. Allthough paying Holt over £1k a week seems steep for a fairly bang average Championship player. Hope thats not true.

I’d be very surprised at that rumour (no clue where it came from) being true, I’d understand someone like Turner who had multiple options of clubs being paid pretty highly but not Holt.

Your list is correct. The injury news is not good. "Steven Bell will miss out too and Ciaran McKenna is still a bit away from being in contention for a matchday squad". The comment on Bell is vague - nothing on what the injury is and no indication on how long he'll be missing. Presumably, it'll be a choice of Akinola or Gordon at RB when Mayo returns. I'm assuming that we can't recall Niang before January at the earliest. I'd prefer another specialist RB with Akinola, McKenna or Mayo at CB. So who is available, affordable and good enough? -

Fuctifano
I was expecting our last defensive signing to be some 18 year old from the OF / Hearts / Hibs so I'm at least pleased it's an experienced player and a proper left back. only signing til January seems a bit strange though, initial thought was maybe a fitness issue but he played 40+ times for Morecambe last season.
craigkillie
He is rubbish though tbf. Maybe he'll be a bit better at this level.
Pie Of The Month
Been training with the club the last few weeks so assuming he should be fit to come straight in and bump Foster to right back until McKenna is fit. -

I would assume that he was holding out for a better deal than we’re offering but it hasn’t materialised yet, so it’s maybe him keeping his options open. If he does well enough for us to get one in January, then fair enough. -
Reid
Never been impressed with him and was shocked that West Ham paid as much as they did but maybe he’ll be fine at this level.
JagsCG
Pleased with this signing, hopefully will be decent at this level and it now gives us another option at LB with Holt almost certainly going to remain in central defence. I’d imagine Foster will now head to RB (although there’s a valid argument he’s been better on the left).

No. He's currently injured after hurting himself in training with Thistle and was last seen limping about with a moon boot. He might be back in action by October-ish.
