@Swello mentioned it on the match thread but the definitive angle posted on the P&B TL seems to have been ours.

Now that my conspiracy theory is proven - I'm going to point the finger at the bold 'Flow for defending Goss's honour :)

He's missing GA's coaching

Changed my career path in a positive way and opened my eyes on a lot of things on the pitch 🤠 Can only thank him for what he done for me, Top man 🙌

Didn’t cover defending corners or clean tackles.

Do you still get an extra game ban for an unsuccessful appeal?

If it is deemed frivolous.  Haven’t looked up the definition but it will say something about Dundee United and lost causes.

I was keen for him to join the Euro 2020 squad as I felt he was a big game player. However since it's showed at his core he's undisciplined and a bit of a bum without direction or the carrot of a fat wage.

His wandering eye and desire to play away from home really should have any bearing on his employment, that is after all his business.

However, the media attention it got doesn't really sit easy with our family club brand.

You'd have to hope out moneyball software could identify someone to ease our striking issues without his baggage.

so would you give him a deal until the world cup with how we are just now up front ?

Absolutely fucking not. Aside from the moral issues of signing him the last few years have seen him struggle to do anything in a shite Dundee team then dropping two divisions to Falkirk where he was also shite. Then judging by the few highlights of his time in Australia it looked like a pub league he was in.

Hard pass on Griffiths. Obvs.

It's not even the baggage but in that wee puff piece on the BBC you've got him saying "I'm never going to be Scott Brown or Callum McGregor. I'm never going to be as fit as them. I never have been and never will be."

I mean, if he's not fit and apparently has no actual motivation to get fit i don't see that he improves our situation any even on a short term deal.

I didn't follow his 5 minute jaunt to Australia but going by Transfermarkt he became a free agent on October 13th so would he even be eligible to sign outside the window? Are Mandurah City even playing at a level that has transfer windows? Either way, I'd imagine they would be on a different calendar but still...nah.

Anyway, here's Hammell talking about January signings. Make of this what you will.

Quote

It means Well have had to turn to their youth team to fill their quota of substitutes in recent weeks. But Hammell says a budget has been set aside to recruit in January - and transfer targets have already been identified. He said: “That’s something we have already spoken about. We are not getting too far ahead but you need to plan on what we can do short term.

“The long term plan of the club we have already tried to put in place with the young boys going out on loan, that’s not something that’s going to help the club right now, it’ll be a year or two to see the fruits of that. But the short term .. we sit here til 8pm every night and plan.

“This week we have looked at potential targets in January. For sure that is going to be a big window for us in terms of getting a couple of options in the building.

“It’s no secret we need a couple in. There’s flexibility to do that. We won’t fill the squad with people who are just going to be squad players.

“We need to be clever and confident with it. There’s always a gamble with recruitment of course but it’s something we are planning for already.”

Hammell may only be three months into his first job as a boss but working with the club’s dedicated scouting and recruitment staff to pin down potential signings is a part of the job he has found rewarding. He said: “Absolutely, it’s part of the job and is something we’re good at.

“We have staff dedicated to it and their application is excellent. The knowledge, tapping into that on a daily basis, we have debates about everything in football and the recruitment staff is similar to that. The coaching staff, sports science, analysis .. everyone pulls together and that will just make us better.”
