What's a softie?

Its what the rest of the country, outside the north east would call a roll.

Up here a roll can be a word used for rowie, especially in Fraserburgh.

Which leads me to an argument I have been having with Tcheuchters,

Is it a Rowie or a Buttery?

I say Rowie.

That's rich coming from someone who had to 'emegrate'

Except I didn't move to Oz to evade the authorities; I emigrated to get away from the types of maniacs who have rolls with their pot noodles.

Is it f**k, we call them soft rolls and crispy rolls, with the odd chewy roll.

Auld people may also request a well fired roll.

And that concludes todays lesson.

Exactly, it's what you call a 'roll'.

What about the fuckery are "Morning rolls" then? They aren't hard but not quite the softie, anyway they can get to f**k they give me heart burn.

I love big baps. Ones that you can really sink your teeth in to.

Morrisons own brand crisps are decent on a roll.

Not as good as a scotch pie on a roll though!

Agreed, but you have to cut the crust off and eat that separately.

There's a wee independent greengrocer down the road where we buy all our fruit and veg (it's miles nicer than the supermarket stuff) and they've recent started doing the big, well fired rolls that have the crusty top on them. They're the best rolls I've ever had, and the woman in the shop calls them 'Glasgow Rolls'. Any idea why?
