A lot of boxers want the ring to retire them. Hopkins for example couldnt put it down until he had to. Being knocked out might be the best way to realise you dont have it anymore.

That said, I notice he's never been KO'd.

Theres the whole picking a loss thats worthy too. Old lion v young lion etc. These guys dont think rationally when it comes to hanging them up. Going out in front of a home crowd to a young Scottish future champ might just feel right to him. Anyway, all that matters is that I think its a decent fight to give the fans in the circumstances.

Decent amateur boxer himself.....might ask him what the craic is. Agree that it would be a decent fight though.
pittsburgh phil
Agree that Taylor vs Burns would be a good matchup if that's the way it's going - Scottish interest, a good test for Taylor, and a decent payday for both hopefully. Can see Josh stopping Burns in the later rounds but he won't KO him.
Shandon Par
Shame as I thought Taylor v Barancyk would have been really exciting and all action, with Barancyk getting spectacularly knocked out by half way. Taylor and Burns have sparred and I’m sure it will all be respectful but Josh’s spiteful side will remember that Burns tipped Ohara Davies to beat him.
JamieStevenson
What do we make of Smith v Eggington tonight?

Should be a decent enough scrap for however long it lasts, Smith will stop him though. Hopefully we get some scouse glass jaws cracked tonight. Fowler getting violently knocked out would be great.
Neilly
Really looking forward to this card tonight. Would love Fowler to get brutally knocked out but I can't see it.
buddie06smfc
Yep - I’m also looking for Fowler to get scudded right on the chin unfortunately don’t see it happening. I have enjoyed watching Fitzgerald & his tweets this week.

Detournement
Electric first round from Price and Kash.
MONKMAN
The state of these two. David Price will be working the door of Yates within 6 months, once Hearn has finally given up on him.

JamieStevenson
He totally just took a bite out of Price
Detournement
Ali would have a better chance if he didn't have to pull his shorts up every 20 seconds.
J_Stewart
Kash Ali will likely get a ban for that bite, was pretty blatant. He is an incredibly limited boxer, and yet, Price isn’t looking that much better at all. Ali’s constant adjusting of his shorts is infuriating.
JamieStevenson
Rightly disqualified. Fucking disgrace

Detournement
Just when that was turning into a decent fight.
