shibbydoo
5 hours ago, Kyle said: The Courier reporting we've signed Benjamin Kimpioka. Ex Sunderland 'wonder kid' apparently. 24 year old who's been on loan from AIK ti Luzern and can play through the middle or wide. Can see why we've let Costelloe go. That looks a really promising signing. 4 goals in 42 games - on paper doesn't appear to be the goalscorer we are crying out for. In Potter we trust!

FrankChickens1
Think Adams kind of cursed Costelloe before he even arrived with those comments, he was going to have to be great to win fans over and certainly didn't manage. Surely Newcastle are going to take Turner-Cooke back as he's not playing? He'd learn more in PL2 than on our bench. I thought in his appearances so far he's shown the kind of technical ability you'd expect from a PL product although obviously didn't do much productive with it. Successive managers will also be seeing in training there's something missing. Very happy with Smith (based on not much actual detailed knowledge of him).
Theyellowbox
Kimpioka confirmed by AIK. Saying there is a sell on clause, which suggests we have paid a fee for him.

Hard to know as translations can be funky. He was contracted there for another 12 months, and they paid a fee for him 2 years ago, though. Totally unsure of him as its hard finding footage.

I suppose it could be a case of let him go for free, but in order to do so, take a cut of any future sell on. In a way, it is encouraging as it means that they must see even a potential for him to kick on. That said, we had the same with Bair.... Let's hope that Levein doesn't do the same as previous managers and hold him back in the same way we did with Melamed and Etu. Let him lose on Dundee today.

Aye i wouldnt be reading too much into the sell on, it'll just a case of "anything we can potentially get back is better than nothing" stuff, as he seems like a total bust for them after spending a fee. Agreed about just letting him loose. Suspect hes been training with us a while? Sounds like Kerr Smith has been too.

steviemay17
Does this mean we can now unleash a "£10m" strike force of Kimpioka and Jephcott if they were allegedly touted for £5m moves at fairly recent points in their careers?
