Worth noting theres Aberdeen fans on Twitter talking about how we "only took 3000 to a Semi last season" so its better for Scottish football that we got knocked out.

Off the scale moronity

Maybe, but the ways it been presented suggests we barely scraped 3000 tickets sold, when they truth is they sold out within days and we had thousands of fans unable to get tickets because the SFA randomly decided to retract tickets we were promised.

Sorry for being pedantic but it was the SPFL, not the SFA.

Felt that winner was deserved.... Just!
I've certainly seen worse games, lots of bite, lots of tension, a couple of moments of real quality.
First of all the free kick from Wotherspoon was terrific, followed by a stunning save. Big Joe Lewis proving his worth again. He's having a fine start to the season. The goal was a very good cross from Shinnie, on his weaker foot, and a great header from Rooney. He's just got it, that centre forward's instinct.
Thought that individually our players looked good going forward but they don't really appear to have much of a plan. Players were getting in each other's way and despite there being plenty of bodies around him, Stockley never managed to link up particularly well with anyone.
The centre midfield issue is perennial, we have to play Shinnie there because he's the only one capable of being halfway competent defensively. If some of the folk on here had their way there would be a duo of Maddison and McLean, exposing the back four even more. O'Connor continues to look pretty good, but Taylor is plateauing at a level which isn't particularly high. He's not as bad as some would have you think, but he's nowhere near where he was in that six month spell.
St J were St J. A very organised side with good players in places and limited players in others. Anderson and Shaughnessy both good at the back, Davidson is a proper terrier in the middle, someone who would have played at a higher level had it not been for the injuries. Gormley was pretty guff, and Paton is rubbish. Zander Clark looks a very accomplished goalkeeper for his age.

A game that couldve went either way easily, a fantastic save from Lewis turned it around. Had a bad feeling when I seen Rooney come on.

Probably just as well we never went through; the SPFL would've managed to find a way to back us into only having 3000 fans at Fir Park or somewhere similar.
