Are you drunk?

A little bit. I'm not convinced by untested anywhere utopian economics without a plan, as a reason to leave the EU though.

P.S. Added a bit to the above before you posted.

No but it made me think that it would be simpler to create a more equitable society within the UK than an independent Scotland.

I have also lost a bit of faith in Scotland being more receptive to socialism than the rest of the UK. It probably still is but the difference is getting smaller with every year that passes.

I understand where you are coming from, but that time has long passed.  Probably like yourself I placed my faith in the Labour Party for most of my adult life until such times as they moved so far to the right that I could no longer hold on.  I now vote SNP, not because I'm a rabid Scottish Nationalist, but because I believe an independent Scotland represents my own and my family's best hope of achieving the sort society I wish to live in.

Perhaps you should consider the analogy of a house move; first you make the move and then you furnish and decorate to your own taste.  Thus, the SNP and the wider independence movement become the removal men, whilst an energised, focused, reconstituted and above all independent Scottish  Labour party becomes the interior designer.  One in which there is no refuge for Brown, Darling, the Alexanders, Foulkes and every other Toom Tabard of yesteryear.

But we'll never do it if folk like you are fighting the battles of 40 years ago.

lol I respect your honesty. I don't think his post, or the examples offered, are unreasonable but it's one major gamble.

I find it weird that Sajid Javid is so staunch pro-Brexit and anti-immigration.

He knows he's Indian right?

Ooft. Proper YerDa stuff here. He is indeed english, and of Pakistani descent. You could only make yourself look thicker here by replying with "they're all the same anyway" or something.

Above all that, Javid is a Tory c**t.

It's wrong to hate someone for the colour of their skin but OK to hate them for the colour of their rosette.

All Tories are the same. :thumsup2

There’s something a bit strange about someone whose family are recent immigrants being so anti immigration.

It’s a bit like all those folk who benefited from a free higher education being in favour of tuition fees and scrapping student grants.

I suppose it’s based on the concept of ‘I’m all right Jack f**k everyone else’.

Looks very like the ECJ is going to rule that the UK can unilaterally withdraw Article 50.

Big win for those Scottish politicians that brought the case and a kick in the teeth for those who tried to stop them.

Another option for Parliament that will expose the falseness of the binary option that May is arguing.

I haven't been on Twitter yet, I suspect parts of it are in absolute meltdown about the ECJ ruling over British sovrintea innit.

If we withdrew Article 50 we would still be on the same terms (i.e. no need to use the Euro, still get the rebate).  If we seek to rejoin we won’t get that.

It will be interesting to see the interpretation on unilateral withdrawal if Article 50 is first extended which seems to becoming a popular idea.

Not exactly scientific but from discussing it with 2 Germans and a Spaniard, they all think we should be told to do one if we attempt to cancel it. Might end up a popular alternative option for folk in the UK but it won't be well received by many elsewhere in Europe who are starting to get tired of the whole thing and want to see the UK fall on its arse because that's what they feel it deserves...

He's not anti immigration in general. He's against immigrants who establish communities, use services and participate in politics. He's for migrants coming here for short periods, working as cheap labour, having no political rights and then leaving to be replaced by a younger version.

We can get the Gammons onside by telling them this.
