If it is a broken jaw, surely he wouldn't have been able to celebrate like he did at the end?

Craig Gordon says he was rushed to hospital and then returned to the stadium full of pain killers

I hope your correct but why would Brendan rogers say he probably needs an operation if he hadn't broken his jaw?

Could be minor op. Rodgers didn't confirm the extent of the injury or if it was indeed a jaw break, did he?

Can't believe you are getting 5/6 on England

Just away to post this.

I checked on Saturday and it was 3/4 with bet365 - looks amazing value. Eng-1 even.

Hope to fúnk I am wrong, but look how easily Slovakia, England and even Lithuania slipped through to score.

My fear in this type of game is our fitness levels, this is why he must only play people who are playing club football.

We were breathing out our backsides at Wembley , they barely got out of second gear

Good point actually. I could see this game being a repeat of the Celtic-Aberdeen cup final, with us looking lively and keeping the game alive until 60 mins or so, before falling deeper and deeper and inviting the inevitable.

1-1 at half time, then they'll score a second shortly after the break. After being pegged back for 30 mins, we'll have a push late on allowing them to bag a third - Andrew Robertson sliding into the net in a vain attempt to stop it.

ETA: ^^^ That got more specific than I intended.

He quipped that "It was worth the jaw break", but it was tongue-in-cheek.

My guess? Burst lip and perhaps a broken tooth/teeth.

He'll definitely play.

Tongue in cheek was probably a consequence of the elbow he received.

Two questions:

Why name the squad then cut players from it before there's even been a training session?

Why pick Fletcher when he wasn't getting any game time, then call him up when he's in a bit of form?
