Why is Lennon playing him at LB?  He's shan there.
Granted fair play to Lennon for trying to get in a replacement for fan boy Lewis and noise up .net but not with a right back.

Whittaker hasn't merited a place ahead of Gray or Stevenson, the only 'place' for Whittaker is the homophonous kind in the sea. Even if he doesn't find a 'plaice', he will still find the right place in the sea.

He has contributed towards goals, but he has offset that with his errors in defence. He is a luxury that the rest of the defence cannot afford  — at least not in their current state. Lennon's direct style isn't helping Whittaker either. When the opposition break forward, Whittaker leaves half a pitch to run into and this pulls the rest of our backline out of position. When there is a winger ahead of him, he hesitates to cross the halfway line, thus negating his assets in attack (his only assets).

Whittaker's injury issues rival Gray's and his defensive flaws have remained prevalent. He is undoubtedly past his sell-by date, but he may offer something as part of a back-five. Nonetheless, the three-year deal is a rotten piece of business unless he's on minimum-wage.

Another issue exacerbating our defensive frailty, is erratic ball retention. Without McGeouch bringing the ball forward, counter-attacks are happening more frequently and we're giving the ball away on the halfway line. We need more variation if we're going to play the ball forward quickly: McGinn cannot be relied upon as a playmaker and he cannot carry the ball a third of the pitch, riding several challenges in the process, for every attack. We cannot hinge attacks solely on McGinn's movement and steel-toe touch; McGeouch is our pivotal pivot and he should be used as such,  alongside McGinn whenever possible — he's wasted out wide.

Floating balls up to Murray and then threading through balls for Matulevičius is not the way to go about mixing things up either. If we're not going to play players in their strongest position, we should at least play to their strengths.

Well done on your derby win.

I have to apologise for previously disliking the Hibs fans on here.

Your patter is too good to hate.

Only thing that holds you back is your alliance with Dundee fans.

I tip my hat to you m9's.
