Alarm starts at 5am, and goes off and on constantly until about five minutes before he leaves the house at 8am, then there's a flurry of activity before leaving the house late, complaining about being tired. Discussions about why this is a terrible idea don't seem to have yielded any results. This is mental behaviour. These people need to be put on a couple of months of 3am starts , will knock that habit right out of them !
19QOS19
I use the snooze but two hours before is mental. I usually hit the snooze twice at 8 minutes each.

Bairnardo
Id always juat assumed the snooze button was some sort of quirk, like it HAS to be on there or you cant call it an alarm clock. Not for one second did I ever think its use was commonplace among functioning adults, far less folk who share a bed, but not a getting up time with someone else. Cant think of anything more selfish than denying sleep..... Genuinely, someone waking me out a sleep for no good reason has been my peak heads gone kryptonite basically all my life.
Mr Tourette
I only use the snooze if I don’t really have to get up, like on a weekend or a day off. To get up for work, I’d always assumed the correct procedure is to set the alarm for when you want to get up, and get up when the alarm goes off, thus ensuring the maximum amount of unbroken sleep. Maybe I’m missing something?

BFTD
Snooze is handy on those mornings when your mind is wrenched from sleep by the alarm and you require five or ten minutes for your brain to come to terms with reality again, and how to control the fleshy mass it's embedded within. Attempting to jump straight out of bed on those days would likely result in me crashing face-first onto the floor. Anything other than that is mental behaviour.
Honest_Man#1
I have tried for a long time to get up without using the snooze button but my brain just does not let me. I’m woken by the alarm and the shocked state of being awoken that way needs some adjustment time or you feel absolutely appalling.
Arabdownunder
Buying new curtains. "Do you prefer the charcoal or the grey?" Apparently "they look just the fucking same to me" is not the correct answer,

velo army
I bought one of they funcy Philips alarm clocks a couple of years back. Absolute game changer and, believe it or not, worth every penny of the 150 notes I spent on it. A light comes on half an hour before I'm due to get up and gradually gets brighter. It means that when the alarm sounds (gentle music that gets louder) there's no "from sleep untimely ripped" feeling so I generally wake up in a much better mood. I do spend an hour snoozing the fucker though because my room is cold and there's no risk of gbh from a nearby significant other .

I'd imagine there's probably a phone app that does something similar, but if it works for you, well done.

Gordopolis
For me, leaving the phone downstairs breaks the mental connection with all the usual daytime thoughts. Lamp, kindle and that's it for me.Also means you don't instantly start looking at updates and messages as soon as you wake up.
