Has waited until now to tell me that it’s a black tie affair and other men are wearing Tuxedo type attire, which I don’t own. My options are now to go incredibly underdressed or to wear one of my normal suits and look like I’ve just came straight from the office.

CountyFan
Buying a new build. Doing the supposedly sensible but daunting thing of stretching ourselves financially, especially since rates are still low. Gf is already moaning that we won't be able to afford any furniture etc. Can't quite get her head around the concept that we will hopefully live in this house for decades and we really don't need to do absolutely everything day one. "I'm no wanting to live in an empty house!", well f**k off to your mums then and I'll happy live on me own.

Should tide you over. Plus if you push them all close together on the floor you can save on buying a TV unit.

Hedgecutter
I thought that sitting on a cheapy slowly-deflating inflatable couch with laptrays for dinner and a mattress on the bedroom floor was part and parcel of the new homeowner experience.

Except I hadn’t been expecting the entire contents of the current house to be getting fired in the bin and brand new everything everywhere. Thorongil
We take turns on alternate Sunday mornings taking the kids to swimming lessons. When it’s my turn, I’m reminded “it’s your turn this week”. When it’s my wife’s turn it’s “oh, I’m tired, you ok to take them this week?” so very often, when it’s her turn, it’s still my turn. If the situation was reversed it would not go well. I feel rage but an argument could sink the whole day. women live in a world where complete double standards in their favour are just normal. It’s something to navigate.
