It’s not but to take the risk when we have already been impacted by COVID due to players going abroad is mental not to mention the fact cases are also rising fast in the UAE.

Wouldn’t we have been better served trying to re-arrange one of our games in hand?

I just find it daft that it takes a picture of a shite football manager and an over the hill captain having a pint for folk to get outraged tbh.

We knew they were going. Rightly or wrongly.

Wrongly btw.

What was the point turnaround and level of "falling away" last season, out of interest?

I can't see Celtic turning around a 19 point deficit - even with Rangers having Europe to contend with as well. They look exceptionally poor. Their form has "turned around" against the three bottom teams in the league. First challenge they had, they played a very decent 45 minutes and then lost the game on the back of one substitution. There's absolutely no chance Celtic win every game from now to end of season - and that's what it will take for them to win the league, IMO.

I’m not entirely sure but I know they lost to Killie and Hamilton, drew or lost against Aberdeen and I’m sure there was other dropped points and that was from late Jan to mid March. They still have 16 (iirc) league games still to play. A helluva lot can happen in that time. Aberdeen and Hibs away, plus 2 OF games. Factor in the distraction of Europe.

As an aside Celtic beat Dundee U who aren’t bottom 3 (just to be pedantic)

I'm sorry, but this is comedy gold:

seriously, timing is everything and this is something else. Chris Sutton's column in the Mail:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9109165/CHRIS-SUTTON-Clubs-ban-players-guilty-lockdown-flouting-NOT-allow-continue-playing.html

Quote

Roy Hodgson condemned Milivojevic, yet started him against Sheffield United. Jose Mourinho condemned his Covidiots, yet Sergio Reguilon was sitting there on his substitutes’ bench against Leeds.

It feels as if these players are getting away with their ignorance on technicalities.

I would rather see clubs or the footballing authorities police and punish their players.

If caught, that is a three-match ban, for example. Let that act as a deterrent.

Professional players are in privileged positions — so many at amateur and youth level would love to play a game of football right now.

To not socialise together is such a small sacrifice compared to what the rest of the country is going through.

Footballers did so much good work during the first lockdown. They were charitable and showed great compassion.

Now, a minority are not only giving the game a bad name, but they are also giving the Government more reasons to shut it down, especially if infections continue to rise. None of us want that to happen.

We knew they were going yes and however we were told it was for a training camp and COVID cases are increasing much faster now with the new strain than when this trip was arranged.

I remember going to Lennoxtown to take part in a Tennents competition in 2010 or 2011 and you couldn’t even get salt in the canteen because dieticians wouldn’t permit it so this baffles me, I’d also imagine if being allowed a drink tonight they are unlikely to be training tomorrow either so it’s starting to look more like it’s a jolly as reward for winning the treble which under current circumstances and with many fans having to fork out for season tickets under financial pressure I can understand why some are outraged.

Many of us weren’t allowed to spend Xmas with our families yet these overpaid and very privileged and under-performing individuals are allowed to both f**k off out of the country but also socialise with a bevvy and at the expense of fans who have sacrificed going to matches but put their hands in their pockets anyway.

It's obvious the wheels are starting to fall off for Rangers but this Celtic team don't have it in them to capitalise when it happens.

Yesterday was a Championship winning performance for the ****. Played off the park for an hour and then stole the win with an og. They've made their own luck this season though.

Men drink beer at swimming pool shocker.

Who gives a f**k? They’ll be gone soon any way.

When being 19 points behind in one of our biggest seasons in our history, knocked out the cl, kicked out the el with the 2nd worst goals ever conceded despite being first seeds, and knocked out the league cup I’d quite like them not to have a pint by the pool.

This. On the opposite foot Its also why when the called the league was called last year that no nobody believed any Rangers fan about it being unfair on them. Everyone knew they didnt have it in them last year, including those bleating about it. If the same was to happen tomorrow I (as a Celtic fan) would have f**k all complaints.

What a horrible sense of entitlement.  You guys have had one poor (by your standards) spell in 10 years and the toys are out the pram....

Don't agree with that Benny. They've been slowly unraveling even just before Rodgers left when it was rumoured Lawell had clawed a lot of power back. Rangers should be nowhere near Celtic.

The form they've been in us not sustainable. That's why I said they're starting to fall off.

It could just as easily go the other way and they could return to their early season form. I really can't agree with "the whelks are starting to fall off" mainly because, they're looking solid.

Your entitled to feel that way 🤷🏻‍♂️

Weird how defensive Rangers fans get the moment you suggest they're due a downturn in form.

They're going through a poor patch and still haven't dropped one single point.

Thats the hallmark of champions for me tbh. They were pretty crap against us, looked on the rocks against Hibs yet they won both games.

Somebody mentioned earlier about luck, even with all the penalties and covid call offs that may have swung points other way they still deserve to be significantly ahead of us. This was always going to be a strange season but they seem to have adapted to the changes the best.
