I was taking in Ocean Colour Scene and Babybird on The Mound that night. The crushing was pretty sketchy and put an end to the non-ticketed free-for-all that it had been.

Eednud
There’s been talk elsewhere about club finances. This is about the Arbroath Annual Meeting in 1960 and gives an insight into financial life in the top division. Amazed that they were averaging 1,400 for the Reserve League. If it was like it was at St Johnstone, your season ticket got you into both first team and reserve fixtures. One week the first team would be at home, the next week the reserves. My grandad used to go along to Muirton every week to see Saints.

I remember walking down a lane to get from the street to the terracing entrance. Don't recall if there was a separate lane for home and away fans. This one seems too close to the home section. You are correct in saying that the lane in your photo was used by away fans to go on the terracing. Home fans entered at the other side of the ground from behind the goals and up the hill in your first colour photo ….. Brilliant photos …..

Dundee Hibernian
1 hour ago, buchan30 said: What was the reason for this? Police limited the crowd to 3600, from memory. It was a quarter final, and Stenhousemuir had already put out St Johnstone and Aberdeen, interest was high, and the Warriors held Hibs to a draw at the interval. My memories of the game was of Keith Wright being quite physical on George McGeachie who toiled all of the second half, and of thinking Kevin Harper would go on to be a Scotland great. Hibs prevailed by four goals, with a couple from Harper. They produced a Murrayfield programme for the event: Fans leaving the ice rink after the match (screenshot from a video):
