I'm not seeing Queens represented there either, despite 46 others making it.

Tommy Bryce in the back row?

Ah FFS. Always read the entire thread before attempting to be helpful.

Not sure if this has been posted before but it’s the cover of programme from the Clyde v Dundee Scottish Cup Semi Final at Easter Road in 1949. Game ended 2-2 with Clyde winning the replay 2-1. What is odd is they have a photograph on the cover instead of the usual drawing. what is odder is the photograph is from England v Switzerland game earlier that season. The programme for the other Semi Final between Rangers and East Fife used the same photo.

Certainly seems strange choice. Does a caption inside suggest why?

Perhaps just previewing Home Nations match at Wembley a fortnight later.

Have only seen the front page so no idea. The front page of the Cup Final programme looks more like the usual.

Utd team of 87, or 83, in their latest colours, including PC Stark.

Aye, did he not quit football as he was going to make more money in the polis? A scorer in a European Cup semi final as well. Different times

Looked back at his timeline: Derek Stark was eventually forced to quit due to persistent knee problems over the whole of his final season, 83-84. A cartilage cyst finally ended his football career. He had looked to join the police a couple of seasons earlier, and left the club briefly, but had then signed his first full time contract in 1982.

Stark had signed as a 16 year old in 1975, and remained part time, working as a coachbuilder until 1981.

The last match at Old Gayfield was played on this day in 1925. Arbroath beat King’s Park 2-1. Report from Arbroath Archive.

Delighted you posted this - I completely forgot and would've just used a 'standard' game for our 'On This Day' social media stuff and missed the whole thing!

Picture above was taken during the game.

This shows the ground layouts of both 'Old' and 'New' Gayfield :)
