It'll be rugby. Until the turn of the century football and rugby results are often intermixed in the press.

It was only 2 years after corner kicks had been introduced so may refer to corners conceded.

It was rugby (to us)... interestingly 14-aside and played over 4 quarters of 20mins:

With Aberdeen, Celtic and Rangers all at home, interesting to see the biggest gate in the league that day in 1982.

Only one penalty over the two divisions that day as well. Have a guess.

Extension to Main Stand at Tynecastle opened 55yrs ago today. It was never going to win many architectural awards:

East of Scotland Shield Final finished 1-1 before 14,000, with Hibs winning replay 1-0 at Easter Road on Saturday 26th April before 10,729. That was Scottish Cup Final day... can't have been many occasions you saw OF and Edinburgh derby cup finals on the same day.

Almost certainly because of the rare chance to see Blues captain Fred Harris.  Who was the uncle of Roy McDonough (11 red cards in the Football League).

I wonder why we wore the black home shorts that match instead of red.

As I’m sure the away strip that season was all red.

On this day in 1911 Dundee Hibernian, twelve and a bit years before they became Dundee United, won the Forfarshire Cup for the first time defeating Arbroath 1-0 at Dens Park in front of 7,000. Reports from the Arbroath Herald and the Courier from both clubs archive sites https://www.arbroatharchive.co.uk/matchdetails.php?id=3078    https://www.arabarchive.co.uk/matchdetails.php?id=3637
There doesn’t appear to be any photographs from the game so here’s one from a Dundee Hibs v Montrose Consolation Cup tie the month before and a league game v Leith Athletic early the next season. Also a team group of Dundee Harp from 1885 with the Forfarshire Cup on the left. Pictures are from Dundee United The Official Centenary History by Rundo and Watson.
