If it was a huddle, would they not all face in towards the pitch, like “the huddle”? Why do they turn their backs?

Why do they turn their backs? Because a large part of the self and social identity is exceptionalism. It's a salf identity that rests on a purity which can't bear to acknowledge the existence of outside influences. A club like no other etc.

Plastic Paddies. Plastic Poznan. It kinda makes sense.

I've never understood their continued prominence of a song synonymous and unique to another club in world football. My own club with many more has a variation of the Blaydon Races but it's nowhere on the same scale.

Typical of the English expert to put down our game and only value it at £1m though - bet the FA Cup would have been about £1bn, and got a full show to itself instead of a 3 minute segment They did value the FA Cup trophy a few years ago in a similar segment. A different expert valued it at “well over £1m”. Valuing the trophies is more of a gimmick, though, than any serious attempt to put an auction price on them. You might say £1m for insurance purposes, but it’s not unreasonable to consider them both priceless, because the real value is in the history and symbolism, neither of which can be replaced.

Did Manchester City fans not "do the Poznan" before Celtic fans ripped them off? Third generation huddle.
Ron Aldo
We could argue who Celtic stole the Poznan from until the cows come home. The important point that I think we can all agree on is that Celtic fans are a bunch of fuds.

In the interest of fairness it’s worth mentioning that Rangers fans also fall under this bracket.

Arch Stanton
St. Mirren players were doing a huddle all throughout the 94-95 season, a year before Sellick started doing it. Of course I'm sure some other side were doing it well before that, just that they weren't on live TV every week to publicise it.

Sergeant Wilson
I thought the huddle is the players and the back turning dance by the supporters was the poznan.
