He’s absolutely the worst umpire going. And he tried to sue for not getting the World Series. Checked swings can be difficult to judge in real time but that one wasn't even close. No umpire should be making so many terrible decisions on such a regular basis.

There’s another one from a Giants game where there’s a strike straight down the middle that both the catcher and the batter were half way to the dugout before he called it a ball and a walk.

Craig fae the Vale
Mariners have failed to make the playoffs after an unfortunate September. Still very pleased with the roster overall and look only a couple of additions away from being a contender. Can't see past the Orioles or Braves to win it all, but can never rule out the Dodgers.

Orioles are a gritty team but the lack of playoff experience is slightly concerning. It may not matter in the end but that's the reason I'm slightly nervous about potentially running into the Astros. Either way this season has already been far better than anyone could've predicted and there's a lot of build on for the future.
Zanetti
Joey Votto getting ejected in the first inning from potentially his last ever game feels incredibly appropriate.

He won the NL manager of the year last year, although whether he was deserving of it is another story altogether. I have a degree of sympathy for him. The roster was a cluster f**k considering how much it cost. I've no real emotional attachment to the Mets and it's becoming harder for me to support them every day. I hate teams that just throw endless amounts of money at it.
Zanetti
I love playoff baseball so much. In case any of you missed it (and don't already have an MLB.tv subscription, since they've not blacked us out this year!) all of Saturday's games are on the BBC:

Craig fae the Vale
The 101 win Orioles are out after being swept by the Rangers. Dodgers in real danger of being swept tonight in Arizona. Got to love post season baseball.
Zanetti
It was just a year too soon for the Orioles unfortunately. The hitting didn't click, the pitching in games 2 and 3 was all over the place, and they came up against a team that's coming into excellent form at the right time. 101 wins and an AL East title with such a young core is a fantastic achievement though, and when you look at the calibre of player they still have in the minor leagues they're going to be good for a long time. Time for ownership to spend a bit of cash though. Couple of relief pitchers, maybe a closer since Bautista is out until 2025, one starter, and ideally an experienced bat and they'll be good to go next year. Excited to see what happens in the off season.
Zanetti
You have to commend the Dodgers for their committment to winning 100+ games every year since 2019 and subsequently achieving absolutely nothing in the postseason, fair play (2020's shortened season doesn't count).
