To be fair, if it was a blind bidding process and Premier Sports bid more than BT then there's not much the SPFL can do.

It's incredibly harsh on BT, though. They played no small part in ensuring the revamped League Cup was a success, and their coverage of the league has been significantly better than Sky.

You can only imagine that Sky were determined to keep a certain four games and upped their bid accordingly.

At this point with the way they're losing things  to cover without replacing them I'm willing to bet that BT either didnt bid at all or put in such a low bid it wasn't hard for Premier Sports to beat it rather than Premier making a high bid by regular standards.

I'm really gutted about that. Sky's Scottish football coverage has been cheap, tacky and under-researched for as long as I can remember. Nobody watches Premier Sports either, and even when I got their channel for free I've not been impressed.

It's now over to Sky to prove tens of thousands of Scottish fans wrong. They can do quality broadcasting. Sky Sports F1 is excellent imo, aided by a great lead commentator, passionate, knowledgeable and and entertaining trackside reporter and pundits who aren't afraid to have opinions.

If I was them I'd be straight onto Rory Hamilton asking him to become the voice of Scottish football on Sky, then straight onto Darrell Currie to be the face. It's still a few years down the line, so the pundits can come and go, but Commons and Boyd with their lack of knowledge and beige opinions need to be punted straight onto Celtic/RangersTV.
