English Premier League 2019-20

Random stat...the gap right now between 3rd and 10th is the lowest in the 38 game era (25 years).
In the past 12 years the gap hasn't been below 20pts. It's currently 10.
I know the season isn't finished etc. but it puts into perspective just how average a lot of the teams are.

Harry Maguire is actually quite shit.  When you watch him objectively his marking is terrible and he's also quite slow.  Kind of the main attributes you need to be a centre half in an elite league.

If he was a Swiss-born player who signed for Arsenal for £4million he'd be regarded as a decent defender. The fact he's the most expensive defender in the world is laughable and he is nowhere near that good. Leicester must have been laughing all the way to bank.

Think the director at Burnley v Wolves is either new to this or has a hefty pub lunch. 4 or 5 times we've been watching pictures of the wrong bit of the field while play is going on elsewhere.

The 30s player cam of a guy who was nowhere near the ball in any of it was magic

I think its a bit more nuanced than that actually. I think you are going to be seeing the EPL looking very strong next season and entering not necessarily a golden era but a very strong and competitive one. That stat could also easily be interpreted that way.

A lot probably most of the big teams have been in transition and rebuilding the last few years, but most of them are coming to the boil at the same time.

Obviously Liverpool very strong, Man City one defender away from being probably the best side in the world, Mourinho in the process of shitehawking Spurs into being decent for a couple of years before it all falls apart, Arsenal improving drastically under Arteta, Man Utd starting to look really good and a couple of signings from being a top side, Chelsea putting together a quality young squad that is starting to peak now.

Add to that Leicester and Wolves having tremendous periods and Ancelotti sure to make Everton into a decent side then most of the big clubs will be in good shape and competing at the top of the league next season and a couple after that. So it will be looking an excellent league next season.
