You have to possess drugs to take them, even for just a short time. Gove admitted in his interview  that he fortunate to escape jail.

Show me one case where someone has been prosecuted for a historical admission of drug use.

ETA... Unless he was dealing there's no way he'd go to jail.  He's pandering to his audience with the 'jail' chat.

If you could come up with a case of just one of the many people who have admitted taking drugs in the past in their memoirs or in an interview, and have been prosecuted for it retrospectively, I might think your weren't full of shite up to your eyeballs. As you say, Johnson has admitted taking cocaine in the past and has been freely traveling to the US  over the years, so that part is likely shite too.

It's you who is full of shite. Were those people likely to become Prime Minister and have control over national security.

Then there is also the issue of possible blackmail, a major issue in the deep vetting process that senior Ministers have to go through. Did Johnson and Gove truthfully when answering vetting questions?

Johnson travelled freely for years because he  born in the New York and was a US citizen (held dual citizenship). He renounced it for tax reasons after settling a huge bill  when Obama was President.

If Johnson has travelled to the US since then, he would require a visa. You are required to state whether you have used or possessed illegal drugs on your visa application - https://order-order.com/2019/06/09/goves-three-misleading-answers-marr/

Lying on previous visa applications would make it very difficult for anyone to get a visa in the future. The Democrats went after Johnson over tax when he was Mayor of London  so they will not hesitate to stuff him again, especially given his good relationship with Trump..

I suspect he'll be fine in this regard.

Gove obviously thinks so. But politics have become much more vitriolic and vindictive over the last few years.

Chris Huhne and his wife were jailed for perverted the course of justice. Vicki Pryce told a Sunday Times hack that she'd taken his speeding points for him.  They were prosecuted after the article came out. She probably thought that she would be fine too.

Admitting to crimes in media interviews can have unintended consequences, especially for well-known politicians.

Are you seriously suggesting that as Prime Minister, Johnson would be required to fill out an ESTA or that he'd have VISA issues with regards to visiting the US?

He's spent the last decade as Mayor of London and Foreign secretary, you think he's had to apply for an ESTA as means to travel to the US?

Not as Prime Minister.

Johnson is not in the Government after resigning as Foreign Sec. He would need to apply for an ESTA if he's just a backbencher.

Being Mayor of London did not stop the IRS from pursuing him. IIRC, the settlement was over £1 million!

2 years ago British actor Charlie Heaton was caught at LAX and deported due to possession of cocaine, while trying to enter the US for the premier of Stranger Things 2.  Has this stopped him entering the US since, no it hasn't and he frequently travels between the two for work.

If you genuinely think the US would obstruct a high profile British politician from entry, due to admitting to drug use 30 odd years ago, then you're absolutely deluded.

Boris isn't going to get away with saying he might have tried to snort icing sugar but sneezed instead, he's admitted taking coke in the past. When he finally comes out of his PR guarded bunker he'll have to respond to yes or no questions knowing that if he lies, somebody is sure to grass him up. Here's an interview he did when he was running for Mayor.

Thought he was born in New York and as such is entitled to US citizenship

He gave it up because the US Inland Revenue bill US citizens for tax wherever their money comes from.

Jeremy Hunt is advocating cutting the time limit on abortions from 24 weeks to 12 weeks.

My initial reaction was that Hunt was throwing the contest, in similar vein to Leadsom’s children jibe at May, but given he’s fairly moderate on Brexit he needs to appeal to the zoomers who vote on this somehow. Who cares about the women who get hurt, eh?

I can't keep up with how many of these nerds are having every skeleton lobbed out the closet:

Looking forward to seeing Cameron and Osborne leaking the real dirt on Boris after he shafted them. The pig fucking thing will probably be mild in comparison.
