It’s important to mention that the year they won it was their second final in a row though when considering Sterling’s record in the competition at the club he jumped ship for.

Grangemouth Bairn
1 hour ago, throbber said: Some people probably do. I’m just playing devils advocate here but Sterling came through the ranks at Liverpool, almost won the league there in 13/14 losing out to Man City who he then joined in 2015 for more money and the fact they were better at the time. Liverpool have since improved and won the premiership for the first time and won the CL which is something that Sterling hasn’t come anywhere close to at City. It makes a lot of people think GIRUY when they don’t succeed which is why people find the miss last night so amusing. He came through the ranks at QPR Rab. You’s signed them from their academy.

The Golden God
City will be praying Lyon don’t punt Dembele to an English team. Loves a goal against them.
vikingTON
Guardiola has been a failure at Bayern and is fast becoming a failure at Man City: practically everything has been put in place there to build a team that dominates in England and is in the final reckoning for the CL every year but they haven't even come close to the latter and end up spending £100m a year on more silky defenders who can't actually defend. Between his latest flop and Barcelona's long overdue evisceration it has been a truly disastrous few days for football philosophers everywhere.
Mark Connolly
Which ex-Premier League players do we think the commentators will be trying to pin their hopes to over the remaining games?

I think it's more likely to be players linked with a move to the Barclays. The Leipzig game will also be McManaman and Fletcher telling us they're shite without Werner. -

Gnabry having been not able to cut it on a wet Wednesday night in West Bromwich before walking into the Bayern team will be bizarrely spun as a victory for the Greatest League in the World.

DG.Roma
I didnt see Lyon's win last night so have just watched the highlights. At the end, Fletcher said in commentary that it was "the shock of the round" Err, no mate. In a couple of seasons very few people will even remember a decent French team putting out a rich English based team with a dodgy defence. Bayern battering Barca will be talked for years to come.
