I more meant when he was playing pretty poorly in a dreadful Norwich team and had the stuffing knocked out of him slowly over a year.

It takes time to work through shit like that even without criminal level creeps stalking you.

Great to see him approaching potential.

Yeah you never know whats going on behind the scenes eh. Those Norwich fans will be looking pretty foolish right now.

I don't think Chelsea have a buy back option in the deal.

At the time it was reported Chelsea wanted a loan but Brighton couldn't do that as they already had Colwill on loan. £10M was then reported as the fee with almost everyone saying "why the f**k is he so cheap?" only for it to then be suggested that Chelsea negotiated a buy back clause, which would make sense for the low fee. It may be that was all just some wee Sky journalist making shit up but it makes sense.

Had a wee read, yeah I'd say they absolutely are. He could get a move to man city and start every wk next season and they still wouldn't admit they were wrong tho.

Mind when Norwich fans said Gilmour was dugmeat?

Honestly buzzing to see Gilmour kick on again over the last 8-9 months. I was really skeptical that his Norwich spell ruined the spark and oozing confidence he had on the ball which made him so special when he initially came on to the international scene. In fairness, the skepticism was justified as his Scotland performances were suffering in that period. Even at the time of signing, Norwich seemed an incredibly odd move for his football development considering their continuous failure in the premier league

Regular game and trust put on him in a side that plays terrific football will be doing him wonders now. He’s completely different to any midfielder we’ve got and genuinely think he’s got the potential to be world class if managed properly

He looked really annoyed to be subbed off. I like that.

There’s a wee video the SNT account just put up at the end of the game - Clarke gives Gilmour a cuddle at the end and says something along the lines of “do you hate me for subbing you?!”

£10m for Billy Gilmour, even in the inflated English market, seems about right.  He’d go for much more now.

Anyone know when he last lost the ball?

Last night, someone fizzed a shite ball to him, no right to get near ot, but the thing stuck to his toe instantly and he flicked it off to a team mate. Must be class having players like that next to you, making everyone look better throughout the game.

Best brain and touch in the world's best national team...definition of world class.

Pretty sure he tried a long through ball early on that either went off for a corner or went to the keeper but still, he rarely ever gives up possession.

There was cone fairly innocuous pass about 20 mins in where he switches it across to Kieren Tierney but it was just ridiculously perfect. Perfect weight, perfect direction. Tierney just had to stick out his foot and we were off down the left.

Had the same thought you did. It must be such a pleasure to play beside someone who makes things so easy for his team mates.
