If the SPFL could pick who dropped and who came up, who would it be?

Drop: Hamilton and ?? County? St. Mirren?

Up: Hearts and Dundee?

Hearts are doing important work down there and it should be lauded and continued.

This would certainly be the people’s choice.

If by people, you mean those who attend games, one would suggest that isn't the case.. ;)

Obvs, last season, this one and presumably for some part of next, that's all up in the air.

However I was thinking the biggest influence on who will go down has just been announced off the pitch, not on it. These 20 year interest free loans of up to 1.6m could be described as a black swan event for Scottish football. No club in their right mind will refuse this, and for one of two reasons. First off you have clubs like Killie or United who are clearly in trouble and who will bite off your hand for the money. Crazy not to, when it's clear you need it. The second reason is a FOMO one. Say, for example, a club like St Mirren who, for whatever reason, seems to be in a fairly stable financial situation, given the context, what benefit is there for them to hold off when those around you will be taking the cash? Would principle be any bastion of refuge as you tumble down the league thanks to County or Hamilton investing that into the playing squad? Two decades? Interest free? There's less strings attached than a strippers g-string.

Yeah, the £1.6m, certainly on face value, and how each club looks to invest that in their squad, looks to be a real deciding factor here.

Drop the Sainteeees- they are supported by less people than Arthurlie FC.

Up-Morton, just for the laughs of course.

A decent start. Ideally they'd be liquidated and St Mirren park razed to the ground.

And turned into a Tesco.

For years afterwards many shoppers hear an ethereal "BOOOO" ringing around the shop at 4:45 on a Saturday.

So the bottom 3 are not playing today giving those above an opportunity to strike a blow and take a much needed 3 points.

Clearly I want as many teams involved in relegation battle and a round about Motherwell until we can hopefully pull away. An insurance policy as it were.

Celtic ought to win today but no shame in that as I believe St Mirren have enough to stay up this season regardless.

Dundee U v Hibs is interesting. Hibs ought to be slight favourites but they have been below par for a few weeks. Livi could catch them for 4th so they need a win. United for me have been quite lucky. Should have been beaten comfortably by Motherwell and St Johnstone in Dundee but managed to get draws. A loss for them and on to Fir Park where I Hope we can get a victory. 2 losses for United and things get interesting.

Whomever loses between St J and Killie will also be in the mire. Killie fans still not happy with Dyer it would appear. St Johnstone seem not to win for ages and then not to lose for ages. But a loss for either and they are firmly in the mix.

Looking forward to sitting back relaxing and watching it all unfold before we have our 49 games in February. SPFL - silly tw*ts...

Extra time to concentrate on our culinary delicacies this afternoon.

Have to fear for Killie after that

Their chances probably rest in the hands of whoever it is who appoints managers there.

Tommy Wright a stick-on for that job, you'd think.

They've got the worst squad in the league after Accies imo, much bigger job for anyone coming in than say, Alexander at us for example.

Wright/Robinson obvious shouts, but you look at their squad, their situation, and the lack of time left in the window, and wonder if either would risk a relegation on their CV when they could just hold out longer and potentially get a safer option?

Scenes when they offer Kris Boyd the job.
