The Relegation Battle

Queens seem on a downward spiral and managed to lose vs us despite us not playing particularly well.   Partick have played out their options of sacking the manager and bringing in a bunch of new signings and neither seem to have solved their issues.  Alloa have went through a tough spell and are likely to struggle with the players they are missing(especially in goal).

its still a tight division but I think over the next few weeks a gap will be established between those 3 and the rest.

on their day alloa are capable of some very good play and still have 6 points vs us to accept so I’ll put them 8th.   Queens still have dobbie and he should find enough to help them out, which leaves partick in 10th

Dobbie scored over 40 goals in all comps last season and we still just escaped automatic relegation thanks to Falkirks early season shitieness. He's scored 8 league goals so far this season,   hampered by early session injury,  being played out wide or not getting the service he got last season,  so we can't really rely on him pulling us clear again.  Having said that he is still our main goal threat but unfortunately our defence is jelly.

i don' think you can exclude Morton from any relegation discussion.

We have improved with 1 loss in 7 but we are still down there and if we were to lose our next 2 against Alloa and Queens ,  we are back in deep trouble.   We can quite easily go on a bad run of 5/6 games like we have done previously.

Likewise Alloa are on a great run, top of the form table over the last 6 games so if they continue picking up results, you would fancy them to pull away.

Dundee, Arbroath and the pars( just about) are safe for me. The other 4 have work to do, some more than others.

Well, that seems to have slipped by unnoticed.

Can't believe Allan Johnston's comments in yesterday's D & G Standard,  "if we don't start picking up points we could find ourselves in a relegation fight".  Allan,  you fecking ARE in a relegation fight and the sooner you accept it the better the chances of avoiding it.

Echoes of season 18-19. The guy is a charlatan. Can only win diddy leagues when money is thrown at him.

Surely he can see we are in a relegation fight right now!!  If not maybe the Queens board would be better get someone in charge that can see that and act accordingly.....

Did he actually say that, just this week?

That is genuinely staggering, and really worrying.  Somebody, show this clown a league table.

It's best to take what managers say publicly with a pinch of salt. He might be saying another thing entirely to his players.

But, then again, maybe he thinks looking up the table and aiming for the play offs suits the mentality of his players than looking down the way. Optimism over fear and all that.
